At a press conference in Zagreb, the list of players who will participate in the 34th edition of the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag was presented, as well as a rich accompanying program with great concerts, unique gourmet offerings, and a range of other sports and entertainment activities that all visitors to the Umag tournament will be able to enjoy.

The list of players is led by the current world number six, Russian Andrey Rublev, who won his first major title in his career in Umag in 2017. Last year's finalist, Swiss Stan Wawrinka, a three-time Grand Slam singles champion, is also returning, and the lineup of Italian players will be particularly strong, with three players from last year's Davis Cup winners, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi, and Lorenzo Sonego.

"With the confirmation of the arrival of the world's 6th player Andrey Rublev, one of the best young players of today Holger Rune, and a man who has marked the last 15 years of world tennis with his successes, style of play, and personality, the unique Stan Wawrinka, we have three players that any tournament of our rank in the world would wish for. However, the strength of the 34th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag lies in the breadth of quality we present today. Five players among the top 30 in the world, as well as 12 from the top 50, and two of the best players in the world under 19 years, Jakub Menšík and Dino Prižmić, are a guarantee that this year's tournament will once again offer great tennis," said the tournament director Tomislav Poljak.

The Umag ATP tournament has become recognizable for giving opportunities to talented tennis players and future big stars of world tennis. Two years ago, the final was played by Italian Jannik Sinner and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, currently the first and third players in the world, and for this season, players are announced from whom top careers are expected - our Dino Prižmić and Czech Jakub Menšík.

The Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag tells a new, good story every year. Sometimes such a story might not even be expected, and the magic happens, as it did last year with Wawrinka and his emotional journey to the final. This is probably the strongest player list in the last few years. Top matches are guaranteed, I can't wait for the tournament to start. See you soon in Umag," said Goran Ivanišević.

Among the speakers at the press conference was Ivana Curić Čabraja, director of the Strategic Projects Sector of HTZ, who emphasized: "In line with the reputation that the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag enjoys globally, and considering that it is the oldest tennis tournament in our country, the Croatian Tourist Board is once again a proud partner and friend of the tournament. We can say that our country is most recognizable in the world for tourism and sports, and the Umag tournament is an excellent example of an event that, in the heart of the season, brings a competitive atmosphere, fan excitement, and additional promotion of the tourist offer of Umag, Istria, and Croatia as a whole.”

Tennis in Umag

This tournament will be an ideal opportunity for young and talented tennis players to earn points for the ATP ranking. From July 15 to 18, the tennis event Road to Umag powered by Podravka will continue, once again providing Croatian tennis players with the chance to win a wildcard for the Umag tournament.
