Despite the strong wind that hit Čavle, the House of Little Elves became the center of children's joy and holiday cheer on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Organized by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Čavle, the Cultural Center was transformed into a magical workshop, providing children and their families with an unforgettable experience filled with creative and fun activities.

Holiday Sports Course: Elves in Action

Children of kindergarten and school age enthusiastically participated in the holiday sports course, where they developed their motor skills through play and competition. This activity encouraged teamwork and unity among the youngest, giving them the opportunity to try out various sports challenges tailored to their age group.

Creative Corner: Making Unique Christmas Decorations

In the creative corner, children, together with their parents, made unique Christmas decorations out of crystals. This workshop sparked imagination and creativity, while the youngest developed fine motor skills. Parents, on the other hand, enjoyed creating together with their children, further strengthening family bonds and creating memories they will cherish for a long time.

Face Painting: Transformation into Favorite Characters

Face painting turned the children into their favorite characters from fairy tales and cartoons. The children proudly wore faces painted with motifs like Spider-Man, Elsa, tigers, and elves, which further enriched the holiday atmosphere and gave them the chance to express themselves in a creative way.

Photo Corner: Memories for the Whole Family

A specially designed photo corner with Christmas props allowed families to capture moments spent in the House of Little Elves. The photos were immediately available, allowing visitors to take home memories that would decorate their homes during the holidays or serve as personalized gifts for their loved ones.

Decorating the Christmas Tree: Unity in the Holiday Spirit

Decorating the Christmas tree together brought children and parents together in creating a beautifully decorated tree. Each decoration found its place on the branches, and the collective effort resulted in a tree that sparkled in all its glory, symbolizing the unity and holiday spirit that prevailed throughout the event.

This event was part of the broader "Advent at Home" program, which throughout December offered various activities for all ages in Čavle. The program included workshops for making wool Christmas decorations, Christmas concerts, and traditional events like "Christmas Customs." The goal of these events was to bring joy, creativity, and holiday spirit into the hearts of the youngest and their families.

The Tourist Board of the Municipality of Čavle is continuously working on organizing similar events that enrich the social life of the community and nurture tradition. Throughout December, Čavle was filled with Christmas spirit, with beautifully decorated streets, Christmas lights, and music spreading through the center of the municipality. This atmosphere invited people to stroll and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

In addition to the "House of Little Elves," the program also included other events such as "Christmas Fairytale in the Castle," Christmas concerts, and after parties at local cafes. All of these activities were designed to provide unforgettable moments for all visitors and bring the warmth of the holidays into the hearts of all participants.

Such events not only enrich the social life of the local community but also attract visitors from other areas, promoting Čavle as a destination rich in tradition and unity. The Tourist Board of the Municipality of Čavle will continue organizing similar events, nurturing the holiday spirit and creating a platform for socializing, learning, and fun for all generations.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
