Last weekend, from May 9th to 11th, 2025, the Lika region shone with a special spiritual radiance, marking the ceremonial opening of a new section of the Croatian network of the Way of St. James – Camino Lika. This significant event attracted numerous pilgrims, both from various parts of Croatia and from abroad, who embarked on a three-day walk discovering the charms of the Lika region, its deep spirituality, and the widely renowned hospitality of the local population. The route that was the focus of this inaugural pilgrimage stretched through picturesque landscapes, connecting the towns of Udbina, Podlapača, Bilaj, and, as the crown of the journey, Smiljan, the birthplace of the great Nikola Tesla.
