Members of the 41st Croatian contingent in the NATO KFOR operation in Kosovo participated on July 7, 2024, in Novo Selo in the traditional 79th "Dancon March" 2024, organized by the contingent of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Denmark.
On the 18-kilometer route, with a load of 10 kg of equipment, 17 members of the 41st HRVCON KFOR participated, all of whom successfully completed the march. The best result among the Croatian representatives was achieved by Lieutenant Ivan Kundid, who reached the finish line with the leading group.
In addition to the Croatian representatives, around 1,000 KFOR soldiers and EULEX police officers from Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Greece, Latvia, Austria, and Albania participated in the march.
The "DANCON March" represents an excellent opportunity to test psychophysical abilities and push the limits of each individual's endurance. This long-standing tradition of the Danish Armed Forces dates back to 1972, when it was first held in a UN mission in Cyprus. Since then, the march has been held in NATO/UN operations and missions around the world, including Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Latvia, Estonia, Eritrea, Kuwait, Mali.
The aim of the competition, besides testing the psychophysical readiness of soldiers and police officers, is also an opportunity for participants to get to know each other.
