Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic visited Baden-Württemberg and agreed to improve energy cooperation with Winfried Kretschmann

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, visited the German federal province of Baden-Württemberg where he met with the President of the Provincial Government, Winfried Kretschmann, in order to improve bilateral and energy cooperation.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, visited the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg today. Upon arrival in Stuttgart, he held a meeting with the state government president, Winfried Kretschmann.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Plenković stated that they discussed bilateral relations between Croatia and Baden-Württemberg and expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue. He also emphasized the significant economic exchange and excellent tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of the Croatian community in Baden-Württemberg, where around 130,000 Croats or persons of Croatian origin live. This community represents a strong link between Croatia and Baden-Württemberg.

Cooperation in Energy
The two leaders expressed a desire to strengthen economic cooperation, particularly in the field of energy. Plenković highlighted investments from Baden-Württemberg in renewable energy sources in Croatia, including solar and wind power plants.

“Croatia is increasing the capacities of the LNG terminal on Krk from 3.1 to 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas annually and investing 500 million euros in pipelines that will be ready for hydrogen transport. This enables us to direct some of the gas towards Slovenia, Austria, Bavaria, and Baden-Württemberg,” Plenković stated.

Prime Minister Plenković expressed satisfaction with future cooperation with Kretschmann and invited him to visit Croatia.

During his visit to Baden-Württemberg, Prime Minister Plenković visited the Croatian theme park in Europa-Park in Rust.

Croatian Theme Park in Europa-Park
During his stay in Baden-Württemberg, Plenković toured the Croatian theme park in Europa-Park in Rust, where the Croatian summer festival began.

Plenković expressed satisfaction that a part dedicated to Croatia has been opened in this 49-year-old theme park. This significant investment represents Croatia through its monumental heritage and modern innovations, which will attract many visitors and contribute to the development of tourism.

“This is proof of excellent economic cooperation between Croatia and Germany and the contribution of the numerous Croatian community living in Germany,” Plenković said, thanking everyone for the successful organization of the Croatian summer festival and the presentation of Croatia.
