Pohjala tehas is a distinctive industrial complex in Tallinn's Kopli district, occupying the grounds of a former rubber factory. Original factory architecture, large hangars, high ceilings and open courtyards give the site a strong industrial identity, while its transformation into a creative and cultural hub makes it suitable for concerts, festivals, fairs, conferences and other events. The largest hangar covers more than 1,100 m² and, depending on the event layout, can accommodate up to approximately 1,200 visitors.
The interiors preserve the raw character of the former factory, with expansive open spaces and the resonant acoustics typical of industrial halls. Different areas of the complex can be adapted to both intimate and large-scale productions, while creative studios, galleries, cafés, bars, restaurants and bakeries add to the visitor experience. This combination of historic industrial surroundings and contemporary amenities gives Pohjala tehas a noticeably different atmosphere from a conventional concert hall or arena.
