Savoy Theatre is one of the distinctive historic theatres in central Helsinki. Opened in 1937 as a cinema, it now operates as an international guest theatre known for concerts, dance, musical theatre and other stage productions. Its 735-seat auditorium retains the elegant character of its era, while Art Deco details give events a more intimate atmosphere than that found in large arenas and multipurpose venues.
The main auditorium is designed to provide clear views of the stage and accommodate a wide range of performances, supported by modern theatre, lighting and sound technology. Visitors also have access to a cloakroom and hospitality areas offering drinks and light refreshments before performances and during intervals, while wheelchair spaces are available in the stalls.
The theatre is located at Kasarmikatu 46-48, Helsinki, Finland, at the corner of Kasarmikatu and Eteläesplanadi, directly beside Esplanadi. Taxis can drop off and pick up passengers immediately in front of the theatre, while several public underground car parks are available in the surrounding streets.
