Teatro del Estado Esperanza Iris is one of Villahermosa's key theatres and performing arts venues. Opened in 1981, the modern theatre is arranged across two levels and accommodates around 1,200 spectators. Its Italian-style stage features a rotating platform and an orchestra pit, allowing the venue to host theatre productions, opera, dance, concerts and other large-scale cultural performances.
The auditorium combines fixed seating with a traditional theatre layout, while professional stage machinery, lighting and sound systems can be adapted to different types of productions. The orchestra pit is particularly useful for musical and operatic performances, and visitor facilities also include a cafeteria, subject to the event schedule and venue opening arrangements.
