Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel is a contemporary cultural and convention venue on Cartagena’s harbour waterfront. Designed by the SelgasCano architectural studio, the building is distinguished by its elongated form and translucent façade inspired by stacked shipping containers. Its main auditorium is located below sea level and has a maximum capacity of 1,401 visitors, making the venue an important setting for concerts, theatre productions and conferences.
The stalls and two balcony levels provide clear views of the stage, while the acoustic design and modern technical equipment support a wide range of musical and performing arts productions. Spacious, light-filled communal areas allow audiences to move comfortably through the building, while harbour-view terraces and event-dependent catering services add to the overall visitor experience.
The venue is located at Paseo Alfonso XII, S/N, Cartagena, Spain, directly beside the waterfront promenade, which provides straightforward access to the main entrance. A public underground car park is approximately 50 metres away, offering a convenient option for visitors arriving by car.
