Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts is a modern performing arts center in Brainerd, connected to the Brainerd High School complex and designed to serve school, professional, and community cultural programs. Its main auditorium is a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre, complemented by the flexible Studio Stage space. A large stage, expanded orchestra pit, and professional theatrical lighting and rigging systems allow the venue to accommodate theatre productions, concerts, orchestral performances, opera, and other live events.
Particular attention was given to sound quality, with adjustable acoustics that include a dedicated acoustic shell and ceiling elements that can be configured for different types of performances. The center also contains music ensemble and rehearsal rooms, dressing and makeup rooms, and a scene shop, supporting productions considerably more complex than those normally associated with a traditional school auditorium.
The venue is located at 602 S 5th St, Brainerd, United States, immediately beside the Brainerd High School area. Visitor parking is available in lots north of the venue and across the street to the east, allowing a short walk from the parking area to the entrance.
