Canton Palace Theatre is a historic theatre that opened in 1926 and remains one of downtown Canton's distinctive venues for performing arts and film. Designed by architect John Eberson in his celebrated “atmospheric” style, its auditorium was conceived as a Spanish courtyard beneath a star-filled night sky. The theatre provides approximately 1,488 seats across the main floor, lower balcony and upper balcony, making it suitable for concerts, stage productions, film screenings and other events.
The richly decorated auditorium, ornate proscenium arch and atmospheric ceiling give performances a setting very different from a conventional modern theatre. The main floor can be reached without stairs, while balcony seating is accessed by stairways. Visitors can also use a concession stand offering snacks and drinks, with a bar available at selected events.
The theatre is located at 605 Market Ave N, Canton, United States, at the corner of Market Avenue North and Sixth Street NW. The main entrance is clearly accessible from Market Avenue, while street parking and downtown parking garages provide several options within the surrounding area.
