Boettcher Concert Hall is a distinctive concert venue with an in-the-round design and the home of the Colorado Symphony. Opened in 1978, it was the first symphony hall in the United States built in this configuration, with the audience arranged around the stage. The hall has a capacity of 2,679, and 80 percent of its seats are less than approximately 20 metres (65 feet) from the stage, creating an immediate connection between performers and the audience.
Slightly angled walls and undulating acoustic facias diffuse, reflect and channel sound throughout the auditorium. Custom-designed steam-bent plywood seats help maintain balanced acoustics even when the hall is not full, while clear sightlines add to the comfort of symphonic performances and touring concerts. Foyer areas and the Colorado Symphony box office are available within the venue.
The hall is located at 1400 Curtis Street, Denver, Colorado, United States, at the southwest end of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, behind the covered Galleria near Sculpture Park. The main pedestrian entrance to the complex is at 14th Street and Curtis Street, while the primary entrance to the on-site parking garage is on Arapahoe Street between 13th and 14th streets.
