Arlene Schnitzer Hall is one of Portland's most recognizable concert and performing arts venues, housed in a historic 1928 building designed in the Italian Rococo Revival style. Originally a vaudeville theatre and later a grand movie palace, it is now an important part of the city's performing arts scene. The hall offers 2,776 permanent seats, increasing to 2,808 when pit seating is used, while an extensive restoration in the 1980s preserved much of its historic character.
The interior combines ornate period details with the infrastructure of a modern concert hall. Seating is arranged across the orchestra level, dress circle, mezzanine, lower balcony and upper balcony, providing several different perspectives of the stage.
