R. J. Reynolds Auditorium is a historic theatre and performance venue in Winston-Salem, completed in 1924 to a design by architect Charles Barton Keen. With approximately 1,900 seats arranged across the orchestra level, mezzanine and balcony, it is one of the city's larger historic performing arts venues. The auditorium and the adjacent school building are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, while its stage has long hosted concerts, theatre and dance productions, and other cultural events.
The interior retains the character of a traditional auditorium, with clear views of the stage from multiple seating levels and acoustics suited to musical performances. A custom concert acoustic shell further supports orchestral and other acoustic programs. Seating is available on several levels, with accessible seating provided on the orchestra level; because of the building's historic design, the mezzanine and balcony are reached by stairs.
