National Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Rijeka) reported numerous rescue operations that have taken place in the past few days, including emergency medical evacuations of patients from Croatian islands and search and rescue operations in the Podvelebitski Channel.

Podvelebitski Channel: Rescue of a Person on a Dinghy
One of the most significant events occurred on August 27 in the Podvelebitski Channel when the National Maritime Rescue Coordination Center received a call at 11:50 AM. The report came from an eyewitness who noticed an out-of-control vessel – a small electric-powered dinghy, driven by strong winds towards the middle of the channel. There was one person on board, being pushed further from the shore by the strong winds.

The harbor masters in Senj and Zadar were immediately informed of the incident, but it was decided that the nearest outpost, the one in Starigrad - Paklenica, would take over the rescue operation. The outpost's officers reacted quickly and sailed towards the area between Krišac and Santiš, where they began an intense search. At 12:47 PM, the person in the vessel was found unharmed and transported back to a safe location, successfully concluding this rescue operation.

Emergency Medical Evacuations from the Islands
In addition to this operation, several emergency medical evacuations from Croatian islands took place in the past few days. Between August 24 and 27, various harbor masters carried out patient transfers from the islands of Hvar, Koločep, Olib, and others. These operations were often challenging due to weather conditions and distances, but all patients were successfully transported to mainland hospitals.

Split: Patient Transfer from Stari Grad
On August 24, Split Harbor Master's officers carried out an emergency transfer of a patient from Stari Grad on the island of Hvar to the city port of Split. The operation began in the evening, and after docking in Split, the patient was taken over by HMP Split staff, who further attended to her.

Dubrovnik: Three Emergency Operations
In Dubrovnik, three medical evacuations were carried out in the past few days, including the rescue of an unconscious patient from the sea near the island of Koločep on August 25. The patient was quickly transported to Dubrovnik by the officers and medical staff, where she received the necessary care.

Also, on the evening of August 25, a minor patient was evacuated from a passenger ship in the Dubrovnik waters. The operation involved cooperation with the ship's crew and a quick response from the medical staff aboard the "Danče".

On August 27, Dubrovnik Harbor Master's officers transported an elderly patient from the island of Koločep to the hospital in Dubrovnik. The operation was successfully completed, and the patient was attended to at the port of Gruž.

Zadar: Medical Transfers from the Islands
The Zadar harbor master's office was also involved in several emergency medical transfers. On August 25, a patient was transferred from the island of Olib to the city port of Zadar. The next day, August 26, officers transferred a patient from the island of Sali on Dugi Otok to Sukošan, where he was taken over by emergency medical personnel.

Šibenik: Interventions in the Šibenik Archipelago
In the Šibenik archipelago, the Šibenik harbor master's office conducted two significant operations. The first operation on August 25 involved the emergency transfer of a patient from the island of Obonjan to Mulo Krka in Šibenik. The second operation on August 26 involved the transfer of a patient from the island of Zlarin, who was transported to Šibenik after receiving medical care.

Rijeka: Emergency Medical Evacuation from Mali Lošinj
This morning, August 27, the Rijeka harbor master's office carried out an emergency medical evacuation of two patients from Mali Lošinj to Rijeka's Porto Baroš port. The patients were under medical supervision, and upon arrival, they were taken over by HMP Rijeka staff, successfully concluding the operation.
