Cadet David Tadić, a member of the Croatian Military Academy "Dr. Franjo Tuđman," actively participated in the remediation of damages after the severe storm that hit the Municipality of Bošnjaci in early July 2024.

The Croatian Army, together with the local population and other components of the homeland security system, worked on normalizing life in the affected areas. Up to 50 members of the Guard Armored Mechanized Brigade of the Croatian Land Forces participated in this action, providing assistance to the local population in repairing the damages caused by the storm with hail. The storm caused significant material damage to residential and commercial buildings and agricultural crops, and one person was seriously injured after falling from a roof.

The residents of the Municipality of Bošnjaci suffered great material damage. Roofs, facades, and cars were damaged, and the village church and elementary school were also affected. The local population was advised not to climb on the roofs while they were wet due to the risk of falls, and many benefactors donated tiles and other necessary materials to the affected.

David Tadić personally participated in the remediation of damages, although his household lost internet connection due to the storm, which resulted in a delay in receiving an email from the Ministry of Defense about the place and time of enrollment in the desired study program. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Defense contacted him by phone and enabled his enrollment, making him a part of the Croatian Army.

The Croatian Army will continue to provide assistance to the Municipality of Bošnjaci as long as necessary. The decision to use the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia in providing assistance was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić at the request of the Civil Protection Directorate. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, Lieutenant General Tihomir Kundid, visited Bošnjaci to familiarize themselves with the extent of the damage and coordinate further assistance activities.

We wish Cadet David Tadić a successful journey in the Croatian Army and believe that he will continue his honorable and professional path in its ranks.
