Tastes of Pelješac return to Orebić: a summer marked by wine, homemade products, music and fishermen’s evenings
A new edition of the Tastes of Pelješac event, one of the peninsula’s recognizable summer programmes, begins in Orebić on 10 June 2026. According to an announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, the event will be held every Wednesday this season until 16 September, extending through most of the summer tourist season. The programme is conceived as an eno-gastro meeting of visitors, local producers and musicians, with Pelješac wines, homemade products, a Mediterranean atmosphere and evening open-air events at its centre. This year’s edition is additionally expanding through four special evenings called Tastes of Pelješac / Fishermen’s Evenings, where, alongside the usual offer of local winemakers and producers, grilled sardines will also be served. For visitors planning to stay several days and combine events in Orebić, Lovište and Trstenik, accommodation offers in Orebić and the surrounding area may also be useful.
According to data from the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić published within the Croatian National Tourist Board system, the event has been held since 2014. Over the past decade, it has become part of the destination’s summer identity because it connects what Pelješac is especially known for: viticulture, local gastronomy, live music and direct contact with producers. Winemakers and family farms traditionally participate in the programme, presenting wines, liqueurs, jams and other homemade products. A humanitarian dimension is added to the event by the League Against Cancer, whose members prepare sweet and savoury delicacies, with proceeds from sales intended for humanitarian activities, states the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić.
A programme every Wednesday, from the start of the summer season
The first edition of this year’s Tastes of Pelješac has been announced for Wednesday, 10 June, at 8 p.m. on Mimbelli Square in Orebić, according to the events calendar of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić. The following Wednesdays, the programme continues in the same evening rhythm, and the official calendar for June also lists the 17 June edition, likewise at 8 p.m. on Mimbelli Square. For that event, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić particularly emphasized that admission and wine tasting are free, making the event accessible to a wide range of visitors. The organizers announce socializing with local winemakers and producers, along with a music programme and an offer of homemade products. Such a format makes it possible for the eno-gastro offer to be presented not only through restaurants and wine cellars, but also in public space, through direct communication between producers and the audience.
Tastes of Pelješac does not function as a one-off festival, but as a series of regular summer evenings. In this way, the programme fits into the rhythm of a destination where concerts, folklore evenings, guided tours, exhibitions and local festivities alternate during the season. According to the official calendar of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, Wednesdays are reserved for Tastes of Pelješac, while on Sundays during part of the season the Sounds of Dalmatia programme is held. This distribution of events makes it possible for the cultural and gastronomic offer not to be concentrated into just a few days, but to extend evenly throughout the summer. For a destination such as Orebić, which besides beaches and excursions also offers a strong wine and maritime tradition, the regularity of the programme is important because it gives visitors a clear reason to spend the evening in the centre of the town.
The official schedule shows that part of the programme will be held on Mimbelli Square in Orebić, while the special Fishermen’s Evenings bring the event to additional locations. According to the announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, four events will have an expanded fishermen’s character, with an offer of grilled sardines. Two of those evenings will be held at new locations: in Lovište on 22 July and in Trstenik on 29 July. In this way, the programme does not remain only in the municipality’s main settlement, but also expands toward other Pelješac places that have their own audiences, local guests and visitors from surrounding areas in summer.
Fishermen’s Evenings bring sardines, concerts and new locations
A special novelty this year is the four events under the name Tastes of Pelješac / Fishermen’s Evenings. According to the official calendar of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, the first Fishermen’s Evening within the event has been announced for Wednesday, 15 July, at 8 p.m. in Orebić’s Lučica, with a performance by Grupa Naro. The official programme description highlights that grilled sardines will be offered alongside local winemakers and their labels, and the event is conceived as a combination of eno-gastro offer and Mediterranean ambience. This addition changes the tone of part of the event because, alongside the wine and producer component, it also emphasizes the fishing tradition of a coastal town. Sardines are therefore a logical choice for a summer evening offer because they rely on simple, recognizable and accessible Dalmatian gastronomy.
The second Fishermen’s Evening will be held on 22 July in Lovište, also starting at 8 p.m. The Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić has announced that Giuliano and Diktatori will take care of the atmosphere, followed by a performance by DJ Goodie. Lovište has thus been included among the locations of this year’s Tastes of Pelješac, which is important for expanding the programme beyond the centre of Orebić. Moving part of the events toward Lovište and Trstenik shows the organizers’ effort to ensure that the summer programme does not remain tied exclusively to the busiest locations, but includes other places in the municipality as well. For audiences planning to attend several evenings in a row, especially during the second half of July, a practical choice may be accommodation close to the event venues on Pelješac.
The third special evening has been announced for 29 July in Trstenik. According to the official announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić on the English version of the events calendar, the programme entitled Taste Pelješac – Fishermen’s Night with a band Viva will be held on Wednesday, 29 July, at 8 p.m., and Grupa Viva has been announced for the music part, followed by DJ Goodie. The fourth Fishermen’s Evening is scheduled for 12 August in Orebić’s Lučica, with a performance by Grupa Marinero. This means that the special fishermen’s format appears in two summer months and at three locations: in Orebić, Lovište and Trstenik. Since the programme is held outdoors, it is worth checking the official calendar of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić before arriving.
A music programme ranging from entertainment hits to Dalmatian song
Music is an important part of Tastes of Pelješac because the event is not conceived only as wine and homemade product tasting, but as an evening social event. According to the announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, the band Gramophonix, known for its combination of Croatian and international hits, will be responsible for the music programme during the summer. Grupa Marinero and Grupa Naro also participate in the programme, cultivating a more traditional Dalmatian expression with accordion, guitar and Dalmatian song. Such a combination covers different audience tastes: from a light entertainment repertoire to locally recognizable melodies. In tourist towns such as Orebić, live music also has a practical role because it extends visitors’ stay in the centre of the town and gives rhythm to the evening programme.
This year’s programme gains additional diversity through guest appearances by better-known performers and local bands as part of the Fishermen’s Evenings. The performance by Giuliano and Diktatori in Lovište on 22 July is one of the more prominent music dates in the Tastes of Pelješac calendar, while Grupa Viva in Trstenik and Marinero in Orebić’s Lučica complete the July and August schedule. According to the official events calendar, the summer programme in the Municipality of Orebić does not end only with Tastes of Pelješac; other concerts, folklore evenings and themed events have also been announced in the same period. This confirms that the event is part of a broader summer cultural and entertainment programme, and not an isolated event. Precisely this connection with the rest of the seasonal calendar strengthens its visibility and enables visitors to plan evenings according to their interests, location and musical taste.
Sounds of Dalmatia begin on 14 June in the Nuncijata church
Alongside Tastes of Pelješac, the Sounds of Dalmatia programme, dedicated to traditional Dalmatian song, is also beginning in Orebić. According to the announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, the programme is held on Sundays during the summer, and this season Klapa Nava and Klapa Geta will perform. The official events calendar states that Klapa Nava opens the programme on Sunday, 14 June, at 8 p.m. in the Church of Our Lady of Nuncijata, that is, the Nuncijata church on Orebić’s promenade. For this event, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić states that admission is free. Already the following Sunday, 21 June, according to the calendar, a performance by Klapa Geta has been announced, also at 8 p.m. and at the same location.
Sounds of Dalmatia differs programmatically from Tastes of Pelješac, but complements it. While Tastes of Pelješac focuses on wine, homemade products, gastronomy and a relaxed summer ambience, Sounds of Dalmatia emphasizes klapa singing and a calmer concert format. The location in the Nuncijata church gives the programme a different character from events on squares and in small harbours, because the space naturally points toward a more acoustic and concentrated musical experience. The alternation of Klapa Nava and Klapa Geta throughout the season enables continuity for Sunday evenings and an additional offer for visitors seeking more traditional musical content. In combination with Wednesdays reserved for Tastes of Pelješac, Orebić gains two regular programme pillars during the summer: gastronomic-wine and musical-klapa.
The Pelješac context: wine, seafaring and local identity
Tastes of Pelješac relies on a strong local context, above all on the peninsula’s wine tradition. In its eno-gastro content, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić emphasizes that the Municipality of Orebić is a wine centre and that two of the best-known protected Plavac Mali locations, Dingač and Postup, are located in its area. Pelješac is recognized as an area of vineyards, steep southern slopes and wineries that build their offer on the indigenous Plavac Mali variety. For this reason, an event involving local winemakers is not only an occasional summer event, but also a way of presenting one of the peninsula’s key economic and cultural markers. Wine in this framework does not appear separate from the destination, but as part of the broader picture of Pelješac, together with the sea, fishing, olive growing, maritime history and family production.
Orebić also has a strong maritime history, which further explains why summer programmes in the town often rely on the sea, the coast and small harbours. In its overview of the town’s history, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić states that Pelješac was under the administration of the Republic of Ragusa from the 14th century, and that Orebić was an important centre of its merchant navy from the 17th century. The maritime tradition continued later as well, and today it is visible through cultural heritage, captains’ houses and the Maritime Museum. In this context, Fishermen’s Evenings are not only an additional gastronomic offer, but also a reminder of the town’s connection with the sea. When the programme is held in Lučica or moves to coastal places such as Lovište and Trstenik, the content also gains spatial meaning: the event takes place where the sea, boats, fish and the evening life of the place are naturally connected.
The humanitarian character as a recognizable part of the event
One of the distinctive features of Tastes of Pelješac is the participation of the League Against Cancer. According to the announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, the League Against Cancer prepares sweet and savoury delicacies, and all proceeds from their sale are intended for humanitarian activities. In this way, the event gains an additional layer that goes beyond its tourist and entertainment function. By participating in the programme, visitors not only get to know local products, but can also support humanitarian work. Such a model is often important in smaller communities because it connects tourism, local associations and the community, giving the event a recognizable social character.
The humanitarian aspect is especially important because Tastes of Pelješac brings together different groups of participants: winemakers, family farms, musicians, hospitality workers, visitors and local residents. Instead of a classic event in which the audience only consumes the programme, a space is created here for direct support of a local initiative. According to available information, the role of the League Against Cancer remains part of the traditional format of the event this season as well. At the same time, the organizers are not announcing a change to the basic concept, but are expanding it with new fishermen’s evenings and additional locations. This means that the event retains its recognizable elements, while at the same time seeking to refresh the summer offer and include the wider area of the Municipality of Orebić.
What visitors can expect during the summer
Visitors to Tastes of Pelješac can expect an evening programme based on wine tasting, conversations with producers, local delicacies and live music. According to official announcements, local winemakers and family farms with wines, liqueurs, jams and other homemade products participate in the programme. Events begin at 8 p.m., which suits the summer rhythm of the place and allows arrival after the beach, excursions or daytime activities. In the programme on Mimbelli Square, the emphasis is on presenting producers and relaxed socializing, while Fishermen’s Evenings add an offer of grilled sardines and a somewhat more pronounced folk, maritime character. Since part of the programme is held at several locations, visitors should check the exact venue for each date before arriving.
For Orebić and Pelješac, such events have broader significance than a single evening of entertainment. They draw attention to local products, encourage visitors to meet producers and create an additional reason to come to the centre of the town beyond daytime beach activities. In a tourist destination where wine tradition, maritime heritage and summer holidays meet, Tastes of Pelješac functions as a practical link between these elements. The programme begins on 10 June and, according to the announcement by the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Orebić, will run every Wednesday until 16 September. Alongside the Sunday Sounds of Dalmatia, Orebić enters summer 2026 with a regular schedule that combines an eno-gastro offer, klapa singing, concerts and a humanitarian component.
