Dos Ojos Cenote is one of the best-known natural destinations for cenote exploration near Tulum. Its name, meaning “Two Eyes,” refers to two distinctive openings filled with clear freshwater and surrounded by limestone rock and cave formations. As a natural attraction, it has no conventional seated capacity; the visitor experience is managed through controlled access to the cenote area, which forms part of the extensive flooded cave network of the Yucatán Peninsula.
The main experience unfolds beside the water and beneath natural cavern ceilings. Wooden steps provide access to the cenote zones, while exceptionally clear water creates excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling; selected underwater passages are reserved for appropriately qualified divers and guided activities. Stalactites, limestone formations and the subdued echo inside the caverns give the venue an atmosphere very different from a conventional outdoor park. Practical facilities within the park include restrooms, common areas and food service.
The venue is located at Carretera Federal 307 Km 244.5, Tulum, Mexico. The entrance to Parque Dos Ojos is signposted from Federal Highway 307, leading into the park grounds and onward toward the parking and cenote areas.
