Gnarls Barkley announces first tour in 18 years: nine concerts in the U.S. and Canada
Gnarls Barkley, the American duo consisting of CeeLo Green and producer Danger Mouse, is returning to touring for the first time in 18 years. Live Nation announced on September 18 that the new concert series will be called the To Whom It Still Concerns Tour and will include nine performances in the United States and Canada during November 2026. The tour begins on November 5 at The Masonic in San Francisco and ends on November 28 at House of Blues in Chicago. Between those dates, Gnarls Barkley will perform in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Silver Spring, Toronto and New York. Toronto is the only Canadian stop on the schedule, while the remaining eight concerts will take place in the U.S.
The tour announcement comes in a year in which Green and Danger Mouse reactivated Gnarls Barkley and released Atlanta, their third studio album and the project's first album in 18 years. Live Nation describes the album as the final chapter in the duo's discography, while earlier in the year it was announced as their third and final studio release. This means the return to the stage is not limited to performing the older catalog: the new tour is directly connected to the material that ended an almost two-decade recording hiatus. For audiences, it is also an opportunity to hear songs from the new album alongside tracks from the period when Gnarls Barkley became one of the most recognizable alternative pop and soul names of the mid-2000s.
The tour begins in San Francisco and ends in Chicago
According to Live Nation's official announcement and Ticketmaster data, all nine North American concerts already have confirmed dates and venues. The schedule is concentrated into a period of just over three weeks, from the beginning of November through the weekend after the American Thanksgiving holiday. After opening in San Francisco, the duo will perform in Los Angeles two days later, before heading toward Atlanta and cities in the eastern and Midwestern U.S. The only crossing of the Canadian border is scheduled for November 22, when the concert will take place at Toronto's HISTORY venue. The final stretch follows in New York on November 24 and Chicago on November 28.

Ticketmaster's current event listing also names supporting artists for individual parts of the tour. Gallant is listed for the first four concerts, in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Detroit, while Duckwrth is currently listed for the performances in Boston, Silver Spring, Toronto, New York and Chicago. Organizers warn that supporting artists and event details may change. For that reason, it is recommended to check the latest information for the specific venue before purchasing a ticket and again before the concert itself.
Ticket sales begin in several stages
Ticketmaster states that the general sale for the nine concerts begins on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time for each venue. A limit of six tickets per purchaser or household has been set for the general sale, and the organizer will publish pricing details when sales begin. This means that face-value prices had not yet been officially listed on Ticketmaster's help page at the time the tour was announced. Availability may vary from city to city and between different presale stages, so the fact that a particular ticket category is unavailable during one stage does not necessarily mean the situation will be the same in the next one.
The first presales begin on September 21 at 10:00 a.m. local venue time. Ticketmaster lists the Citi Cardmember Presale and the Reserved by Spotify program, with Spotify tickets intended for eligible Spotify Premium subscribers in the U.S. who will be notified by Spotify via email or through the app. A limit of two tickets is listed for that program. The Artist Presale takes place on September 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local venue time, and advance registration is required to participate. The registration deadline is September 20, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time, according to Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster also states that access to the Artist Presale is tied to a user account and that registered fans receive a link to enter the presale before it begins. Additional security checks may apply to individual registrations in order to prevent automated or abusive purchasing. Tickets for these events use mobile entry, so Ticketmaster recommends that buyers open the ticket in the app before arriving or add it to their mobile wallet. Age rules and entry conditions depend on the individual venue, which is why they vary between cities.
Return after the album Atlanta
The tour was announced several months after Gnarls Barkley's return with the album Atlanta. Pitchfork reported in February that CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse had revived their joint project for a third and final album, released on March 6 through 10K Projects and Atlantic Records. The album was preceded by the song Pictures, the duo's first new studio recording in 18 years. In statements at the time, Green connected the song with personal memories of rides on Atlanta's MARTA public transportation system, while the entire project was presented as a return to themes connected with the city that occupies an important place in the history of both musicians.
The tour announcement further explains how the duo wants to connect the new material with the older catalog. In a statement carried by Live Nation, CeeLo Green said the tour functions like an "open book" dealing with universal questions of life, death and everything in between, and invited audiences to celebrate together what he described as "beautiful madness." That wording matches the aesthetic identity of Gnarls Barkley, a project that from the beginning combined soul, hip-hop, rock, psychedelia and pop without being firmly tied to any single genre. The new concerts therefore serve a dual role: they present the comeback album while simultaneously reopening a repertoire that defined their brief but highly influential first phase.
The title Atlanta itself further emphasizes the project's connection with a city that is important to the careers and musical identity of the duo. Before Gnarls Barkley, Green was known as a member of the Atlanta group Goodie Mob and as a solo artist, while Danger Mouse built his reputation as a producer and songwriter through collaborations with numerous artists. As Gnarls Barkley, they combined Green's expressive, gospel- and soul-shaped vocals with production built on layered rhythms, psychedelic textures and pop structures. It was precisely that combination that very quickly crossed the boundaries of the alternative scene in 2006.
Crazy made Gnarls Barkley a global name
The duo's biggest commercial breakthrough came with the song Crazy and the debut album St. Elsewhere. According to data from the British Official Charts Company, Crazy spent nine weeks at number one on the official UK singles chart in 2006. The song became one of the defining hits of that period and helped the album reach an audience far beyond the American market. Twenty years later, it remains the central reference point in the story of Gnarls Barkley, although their catalog also includes songs such as Smiley Faces, Run (I'm a Natural Disaster), Going On and Who's Gonna Save My Soul.
The Recording Academy states that Gnarls Barkley has two Grammy Awards and a total of eight nominations. At the 2007 ceremony, St. Elsewhere won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, while Crazy won in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category. At the same time, St. Elsewhere was nominated for Album of the Year and Crazy for Record of the Year. The second studio album, The Odd Couple, released in 2008, later also received a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album, while songs and music videos from that period brought additional nominations.
After 2008, Green and Danger Mouse continued separate careers, which meant that Gnarls Barkley did not develop for a long time as a continuously active touring and recording project. That is precisely why the phrase "first tour in 18 years," used by Live Nation and Pollstar, carries greater significance than a standard announcement of a new concert series. The return in 2026 first took studio form through Atlanta and is now moving into a live phase as well. The nine November performances will be the duo's first organized North American run of concerts since the period in which each member mostly worked through their own projects and collaborations.
Toronto is the only Canadian date, while Atlanta is a symbolic stop
The geography of the tour shows that this is a relatively short and selective return. Eight U.S. cities are spread across the West Coast, the South, the Midwest and the East Coast, while Toronto is the only stop outside the U.S. The November 10 concert at Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta carries particular significance, in the city whose name is shared by the comeback album and which is strongly connected with the project's musical history. On the other hand, the finale in Chicago comes after the performance in New York and represents the final date of the officially announced nine-city North American leg of the tour.
Ticketmaster's artist page currently also shows a separate December performance by Gnarls Barkley in Glasgow, but that event is not part of the nine concerts listed by Live Nation in the official announcement of the To Whom It Still Concerns tour for the U.S. and Canada. For readers following possible additions to the schedule, this is an important distinction: the announced North American run remains defined by nine dates from November 5 through November 28. Because concert schedules may subsequently be expanded, the current pages of organizers and ticketing platforms remain the most reliable place to check for new dates.
For now, the most important practical deadline is the one connected with the presale. Registration for the Artist Presale ends on September 20 at 10:00 p.m. ET, the Citi and Spotify presales begin on September 21, the Artist Presale follows on September 23, and the general sale opens on September 24 at 10:00 a.m. local time for each venue. After 18 years without a tour, Gnarls Barkley is therefore returning with a compact schedule, a new album and a clearly defined series of performances that will reunite CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse before North American audiences in November.
