Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam announce first official joint tour: 11 concerts marking ten years of the album „I Had a Dream That You Were Mine“
Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam Batmanglij will embark on their first official joint tour, ten years after the release of the album I Had a Dream That You Were Mine. The 11-show series, titled The Joint Tour, will take place from November 5 to 19, 2026, in the United States and Canada, the musicians announced on September 17. According to the schedule published by Pitchfork and Consequence, the tour begins in Washington, D.C., the shared hometown of the two musicians, and ends two weeks later in Los Angeles. The route also includes Philadelphia, Woodstock in New York State, Brooklyn, Somerville in Massachusetts, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago and San Francisco. Two consecutive concerts at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg, on November 9 and 10, hold a special place in the schedule.
The announcement comes ahead of the tenth anniversary of their collaborative 2016 album, a release that brought together Leithauser's distinctive vocal style and Rostam's production and multi-instrumentalist approach. Pitchfork describes the new series of dates as their first official tour together, while Consequence states that this is their first joint tour celebrating ten years of the album. The project, which until now has primarily been associated with a single collaborative studio album, is therefore getting a full North American concert route. The announced dates currently cover ten cities and 11 performances, as Brooklyn is the only stop with two consecutive nights. A new piano version of the song „In a Black Out“ was also released alongside the tour announcement, giving the anniversary announcement a new musical release as well.
The tour begins in Washington and ends in Los Angeles
The first concert is scheduled for November 5 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. The following day, Leithauser and Rostam will perform at World Cafe Live – Music Hall in Philadelphia, followed by the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on November 7. The tour then arrives in New York, where two nights at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn have been confirmed for November 9 and 10. The next stop is Somerville Theatre in Massachusetts on November 11, followed on November 13 by the only Canadian concert confirmed so far, at The Concert Hall in Toronto. The route then returns to the United States via Detroit and Chicago before concluding on the West Coast.
Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit is booked for November 14, followed the next day by Thalia Hall in Chicago. After a two-day break, the tour resumes on November 18 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, one of two confirmed California dates. The final concert of the announced series will take place on November 19 at Pacific Electric in Los Angeles. The schedule thus connects the East Coast, the northeastern United States, the Great Lakes region, one Canadian stop and California in just two weeks. According to information available on September 19, 2026, no additional concerts have been announced before Washington or after Los Angeles.

Alongside the published schedule, Consequence also lists the performers who will open selected nights. Sam and Louise Sullivan are expected to perform in Washington, Woodstock, at both Brooklyn concerts and in Somerville, while Madra Salach is additionally listed for the opening night in Washington. Johanna Samuels joins the program in Philadelphia and at the concerts in Toronto, Detroit and Chicago. Supporting performers for San Francisco and Los Angeles had not yet been named at the time of the tour announcement. Since showtimes and additional performers may change as each date approaches, it will be important to check the final information for each concert with the organizers and official ticketing channels.
General ticket sales begin September 23
According to information published by Consequence, the artist presale begins on Monday, September 21, at 10 a.m. local time. An additional presale is planned for the following day, September 22, including Live Nation All Access, while general sales begin on Wednesday, September 23, also at 10 a.m. local time in each city. Tickets are expected to be available through Ticketmaster and the official websites of Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam, depending on the date and sales channel. This schedule means that the first purchasing opportunities open just a few days after the tour announcement itself. Buyers should take the local time zone into account, as the sales start time is listed locally for each tour stop.
Ticket prices are not uniformly listed in the announcement covering the entire tour, so they may vary depending on the city, venue and ticket category. The same applies to possible age restrictions, door-opening times and other conditions determined by individual venues or promoters. The two Brooklyn concerts will be particularly interesting because they take place on consecutive nights in the same venue, while Toronto is the only confirmed date outside the United States. For audiences planning to travel between cities, this means the schedule offers several consecutive dates in the Northeast before the tour moves toward Detroit, Chicago and California. There is still enough time before the concerts begin in November for organizers to announce additional operational details for individual nights.
Tenth anniversary of the album „I Had a Dream That You Were Mine“
At the center of the entire tour is I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, the collaborative album released in September 2016. Consequence describes it as a record where doo-wop, country-rock, baroque pop, folk and the tradition of so-called torch song ballads meet, alongside Rostam's production and Leithauser's wide vocal range. The album was created after Leithauser moved beyond his work with The Walkmen, while Rostam was already known as a member, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer associated with Vampire Weekend. Their collaboration did not sound like an attempt simply to combine their two previous bands, but rather like a separate project with its own repertoire and production identity. Ten years later, that material is becoming the foundation of their first official joint tour.
The album title remains a key reference in the announcement, and the organizers directly present the tour as a celebration of its tenth anniversary. This is also significant because the announcement is not tied to a new collaborative studio album by the duo, but to a return to their existing catalog in a live format. Full setlists have not yet been published, so it is currently impossible to confirm whether the album will be performed from beginning to end every night or whether the program will also include material from the musicians' separate careers. What is certain, however, is that the marketing and programming framework of the tour places I Had a Dream That You Were Mine at the forefront. The very name of the anniversary series and the timing clearly connect November 2026 with the decade that has passed since their best-known collaborative release.
„In a Black Out“ returns in a new piano version
Alongside the announcement of the dates, Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam also presented In a Black Out (Piano Version), a new piano version of the song from the 2016 album. Consequence states that it is a previously unreleased version, issued together with the tour announcement. The anniversary has therefore not remained limited to the concert schedule, but has also gained a new release connected to the original album. „In a Black Out“ is one of the songs that defined the I Had a Dream That You Were Mine project, and the new arrangement brings it back into focus ten years later. For now, there has been no official confirmation that a larger package of archival recordings, an expanded reissue of the album or additional singles will be released alongside the tour.
The release of the piano version fits particularly well with the sonic identity of the collaboration, in which piano arrangements and Rostam's production approach played an important role. At the same time, the new version does not suggest a change to the tour's basic concept: the announced concerts continue to be presented as a celebration of the entire collaborative album. Since the setlist for the performances has not yet been published, it is not known whether „In a Black Out“ will be performed in its original, piano or some third live arrangement. Such details usually become clear only when the tour begins or after the first performances. The first opportunity to see the actual concert concept arrives on November 5 in Washington.
Leithauser and Rostam have continued their separate careers in the meantime
The anniversary tour arrives during a period in which both musicians are active outside their joint project. Pitchfork states that Hamilton Leithauser released the album This Side of the Island in 2025, while Rostam presented his third solo album, American Stories, in May 2026. This means that the return to the 2016 material is not a replacement for their separate careers, but a special project integrated into both artists' current work. Pitchfork also states that Leithauser is fitting the joint tour into a break in his annual residency at New York's Café Carlyle. Rostam has continued working over the years as a solo performer and producer, so the reunion around the 2016 album comes after a full decade of new projects.
This context gives the anniversary concerts a different framework from a classic reunion tour by a band that had been inactive for years. Leithauser and Rostam have not announced a permanent joint project or a new album, but rather a clearly defined series of performances dedicated to the tenth anniversary of their collaboration. This also explains the relatively compact schedule of 11 concerts in 15 days. Instead of a months-long tour, a series of selected venues in ten North American cities has been announced. Whether new dates will follow after Los Angeles on November 19 has not yet been officially confirmed.
Brooklyn gets two nights, Toronto remains the only Canadian stop
Among all the announced cities, Brooklyn is the only one to receive two consecutive nights. The November 9 and 10 concerts at the Music Hall of Williamsburg come after Washington, Philadelphia and Woodstock and immediately before Somerville. This schedule makes New York a central part of the first half of the tour, while the second half gradually moves westward. Toronto is the only confirmed Canadian stop and the only performance outside the United States. It is followed by Detroit and Chicago, and then the final California pair of San Francisco – Los Angeles.
The entire route therefore has a very clear beginning and end: the 9:30 Club in Washington on November 5 and Pacific Electric in Los Angeles on November 19. Between those points, the duo will perform on nine additional dates, including two nights in Brooklyn. According to information available on September 19, 2026, European, British or other international dates are not part of the published announcement. No additional Canadian cities other than Toronto have been confirmed either. For now, the project consists of exactly 11 announced concerts, with presales beginning September 21 and general sales beginning September 23.
First full joint tour after a decade
The most important fact behind the entire announcement remains that Leithauser and Rostam are turning their collaborative album into an official tour for the first time. Pitchfork directly presented the new series of dates as their first official joint route, while Consequence described it as the duo's first tour. After ten years during which they continued releasing music separately, the anniversary of I Had a Dream That You Were Mine brings them together again around a project created at the intersection of their different musical backgrounds. The released piano version of „In a Black Out“ also shows that the anniversary is not limited simply to reproducing old material, but includes a new perspective on at least one song. Whether this approach will also be visible in the arrangements of the other compositions will only become known once the tour begins.
Until then, the firmest information concerns the dates, venues, opening acts and ticket sales schedule. The first performance will take place on November 5 in Washington, D.C., the two Brooklyn concerts follow on November 9 and 10, Toronto is scheduled for November 13, and the finale arrives on November 18 and 19 in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Sam and Louise Sullivan, Madra Salach and Johanna Samuels are confirmed as support on selected dates, while the opening acts for the final two concerts have not yet been announced. General sales begin on September 23 at 10 a.m. local time, following two days of presales. Thus, ten years after the release of I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, a full live framework has been established for the first time for the joint project of Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam.
