Makuhari Messe is a large exhibition complex in the Makuhari district of Chiba and hosts several stages during the festival. For this day, the MOUNTAIN STAGE is located in Halls 1 and 2. Suchmos performs there before Jamiroquai, from 18:10 to 19:10. Jamiroquai begins one hour later, at 20:10, so it is sensible to arrive sufficiently early to avoid the largest wave of audience movement.
The final-day schedule also shows how much of the programme runs in parallel. While Jamiroquai closes the MOUNTAIN STAGE, L'Arc-en-Ciel has an evening slot on the MARINE STAGE. Visitors therefore have to choose their priorities and take into account the time needed to move between Makuhari Messe and the stadium. The organisers provide free shuttle buses between the Marine, Messe and Beach areas, but such transfers should not be left until the last minute.

Getting to Makuhari and moving between locations
The most practical railway point for the festival is Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line. The walk from the station to Makuhari Messe is stated to take approximately seven minutes, while ZOZO Marine Stadium is approximately 15 minutes away. A visitor primarily targeting Jamiroquai therefore does not need to go to the stadium first if the rest of the programme does not require such a detour.
ZOZO Marine Stadium is located in Mihama-ku, next to Makuhari Seaside Park, and has a capacity of 29,645 spectators according to stadium data from 2025. The venue was completed in 1990 and is primarily a baseball stadium, but it is also used for concerts and other events. Within SUMMER SONIC, it forms one main festival zone, while Makuhari Messe forms the other.
Public parking facilities are available in the surrounding area for visitors arriving by car, but their number is limited and public transport is recommended. Dropping off and picking up passengers on roads immediately around the festival zone is restricted for reasons of safety and traffic flow. For most visitors, the railway to Kaihin-Makuhari is therefore the simpler option.
Practical things worth knowing before entering
SUMMER SONIC Tokyo opens its grounds at 9:00, while the programme begins at 11:00. Jamiroquai performs only in the evening, so visitors attending for the entire day need to plan for a long stay in summer conditions. Part of the festival is outdoors, while the MOUNTAIN STAGE inside Makuhari Messe is indoors.
The venues have designated areas for water, rest and first aid, and the detailed map is useful for locating them in advance. Free shuttle buses are provided for travel between the stadium, Messe and Beach areas. A luggage cloakroom is organised inside Makuhari Messe.
Entry rules should be checked before departure. Professional cameras with interchangeable lenses, video cameras, recording equipment, action cameras, drones, long umbrellas, chairs, mats, cans and glass bottles are among the items that are not permitted. PET bottles and reusable bottles may be brought in subject to restrictions related to the type of drink and individual zones. A selfie stick may be brought in, but it must not be used in the live area.
Who will find this concert most appealing
Long-time fans have the most obvious reason to attend: a rare Japanese performance, a return to SUMMER SONIC after 14 years and a repertoire spanning more than three decades. But the audience profile is broader. Jamiroquai is also a good choice for visitors who do not normally follow acid jazz but enjoy disco, funk, soul or dance-oriented pop performed by a real band on stage.
For audiences who know Jamiroquai mainly through "Virtual Insanity", the concert can demonstrate how much broader their identity is than a single hit. "Space Cowboy" leans toward jazz and soul, "Canned Heat" toward a pure dance impulse, "Little L" toward a more modern dance sound, while "Cosmic Girl" combines many of those elements within an accessible pop form.
Additional significance comes from the fact that the band is positioned between two phases: the latest studio album is still "Automaton", but the new recording agreement and the performance of new material on the current tour indicate that the next chapter is being prepared. Suchmos finishes on the MOUNTAIN STAGE at 19:10, after which there is one hour until Jamiroquai. That is a useful window for finding a position, getting water and taking a short rest.
The schedule gives Jamiroquai 100 minutes, from 20:10 to 21:50. That is enough for a substantial festival performance, but it is shorter than some standalone concerts on The Heels of Steel tour. It is therefore best not to tie expectations to a precise set list, but instead to expect a condensed version of the band's current live identity - a catalogue of hits, a powerful rhythm section, Jay Kay's stage energy and the possibility of some newer material that has already been tested in front of audiences.
