The lower stands and floor provide a more direct feeling of proximity to the stage, while the higher levels offer a broader view of the production and audience. The arena has sound, lighting and video infrastructure, as well as large screens, which helps visibility in the more distant sectors.
The acoustic experience in a large multipurpose arena depends on seat position, stage configuration and tour production. No special acoustic arrangement has been announced for this concert, so it would not be reasonable to promise identical sound in every sector. Visitors who are sensitive to volume can bring high-quality earplugs.

Arriving by public transport
The arena's website states that Köln Messe/Deutz station is approximately 750 metres away, or about a ten-minute walk. The "Bf Deutz/LANXESS arena" stop, used by local KVB lines, is also nearby. For travellers from other cities, Deutz is practical because it is served by regional and long-distance trains.
A concert ticket may also be valid as a transport ticket within the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg network only when the VRS logo is printed on it. This should be checked on the ticket itself. It is also advisable to check evening departures and possible network works in advance, especially for connections after the concert ends.
KölnTourismus lists the arena as approximately 13 kilometres from the airport and around two kilometres from the main railway station. The actual journey time depends on the connection and traffic.
Arriving by car and parking
Drivers should follow signs for "LANXESS arena" and "Koelnmesse". Several parking garages are available in the surrounding area, but traffic around Deutz can be slow immediately before the doors open.
An important current note concerns the P5 car park. The LANXESS arena states that P5 will be completely closed on July 29, 2026, because of the concert. Visitors should therefore not rely on that car park. Other options should be checked before departure, and arrival should be planned early enough to allow time to walk to the entrance and pass through security checks.
KölnTourismus lists 2,859 parking spaces for the complex, including 74 spaces adapted for people with disabilities. Availability on the specific evening nevertheless depends on reservations, closures and the traffic arrangements; the total number does not guarantee a free space before the event begins.
Entry and security information
The opening of the doors at 18:30 leaves an hour and a half before the concert begins. The arena carries out security and inspection procedures, and queues may form when there is a large number of visitors. Arriving earlier reduces the risk of spending the beginning of the performance on the approach to the venue or in the foyer.
The current list of prohibited items should be checked before departure. The arena states that random body searches may be carried out and that inspections may be expanded depending on the security assessment. The simplest option is to bring only what is necessary.
Visitors who require an accessible route should coordinate the entrance, sector and method of arrival in advance. The complex has specially marked parking spaces, but availability and the best route depend on the ticket and the traffic arrangements in effect that day.
Köln as part of a concert trip
The location in Deutz makes it possible to combine the concert with a short stay in the city without lengthy transfers. Köln Messe/Deutz is located on the opposite side of the Rhine from the old city centre, while the cathedral, main railway station and Rhine riverfront are in the central area.
Because the concert takes place in the middle of the week, travellers should check accommodation check-in times and late return options after the performance. Staying in Deutz shortens the journey to the arena, while staying in the old city centre provides more sightseeing opportunities before the concert.
A practical plan for the evening is simple: arrive in Deutz early enough, allow time for entry, do not count on P5 and check the return connection in advance. That keeps the focus on the music - from the tense guitar introduction to soul choruses and funk rhythms that gain their full physical power in a large arena.
