LOVESTREAM in Bratislava: a guide to the first festival day
LOVESTREAM returns to Staré letisko Vajnory as a three-day open-air festival that brings together radio pop, dance music and club electronica in the same venue. The fifth edition takes place from August 7 to 9, 2026, and the single-day ticket covered by this guide is for Friday - an evening during which the program moves from modern European pop to house, melodic techno and a late-night B2B set.
The festival stands apart from narrowly genre-focused events precisely because of its broad range of names and the clear division between the Main Stage and the Electronic Stage. Previous editions have brought performers such as Imagine Dragons, 50 Cent, Post Malone, OneRepublic, Macklemore, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Martin Garrix. The 2026 edition continues that model: Friday is headlined by Bebe Rexha and MEDUZA, Saturday is built around Robbie Williams, and Sunday’s finale around David Guetta.
For a visitor with a single-day ticket, Friday is not a shortened version of the weekend, but a complete festival day with its own rhythm. It begins with pop concerts in the afternoon, moves into a major dance performance on the main stage, and ends with an electronic program running until 03:00. Tickets for this event are in high demand.
Why Friday is the most genre-diverse day
Friday opens with Loi, a German pop singer whose singles "Gold", "News" and "Am I Enough" have found a large audience in German-speaking countries and on streaming platforms. She is followed by Nico Santos, a performer and songwriter associated with modern European pop, while John Newman brings a distinctive combination of soul, pop and dance production. His repertoire includes "Love Me Again", "Feel the Love" and "Blame", songs that turned him into the voice of major festival choruses.
The transition from the concert part of the evening to the electronic section takes place with MEDUZA. The Italian project brings to the stage the house and dance-pop sound known from the songs "Piece of Your Heart", "Lose Control", "Paradise" and "Bad Memories". The announced performance includes keyboards and other instruments, so it is not merely a classic DJ set, but a fully developed production show staged on the Main Stage.
Bebe Rexha closes the main stage. Her catalog connects solo pop, country-pop and major EDM collaborations, from "Meant to Be" and "I'm a Mess" to the collaborations "In the Name of Love" and "I'm Good (Blue)". Such a repertoire suits the festival format: the audience does not have to follow only one genre to recognize a large portion of the songs.
During the first part of the evening, the Electronic Stage gives space to regional and local names, and after midnight it moves into an internationally recognizable program. KOROLOVA is associated with melodic house and techno, with appearances at major electronic festivals and club stages. The final slot belongs to the combination Plastik Funk B2B Dominik Gehringer, which blends tech house, bass house and melodic techno. Plastik Funk has appeared on the DJ Mag Top 100 ranking for years, while Dominik Gehringer brings fresh regional energy to the joint set.

The simplest strategy for a first visit is to follow the Main Stage from Loi to Bebe Rexha, and then move to the Electronic Stage for KOROLOVA and the closing B2B. Visitors who prefer melodic techno can leave earlier for THE DEEP DJS, a Slovak project that uses its own productions in its sets and combines emotional melodies with a progressive club sound.
Between performances, time should be allowed for walking, getting food and drinks, and possible delays when returning toward the front section of the stage. It is worth securing tickets in good time.
Staré letisko Vajnory as a festival venue
LOVESTREAM takes place at Staré letisko Vajnory, beside Pri starom letisku Street in Bratislava. It is a large open area outside the dense historic center, spacious enough for separate stages, festival zones, parking and a campsite. The open-airfield character defines the experience: there is no indoor roof or numbered seating, and moving between programs is part of the entire day.
For first-time visitors, the distinction between the main stage and the electronic zone is important. The Main Stage hosts pop concerts and the largest productions, while the Electronic Stage maintains the continuity of the DJ program even after the main headliner has finished. Food & drink zones, chill-out areas and accompanying activities have also been announced, but a separate detailed schedule of workshops or afterparty programs is not listed in the information reviewed.
The VIP offer is not a separate festival day, but a different way of using the venue. The description of the VIP zone mentions the possibility of standing in the grandstand, a separate area closer to the stage, a hospitality section with more comfortable seating and separate toilets. Food and drinks are not included in the VIP ticket itself. Single-day and multi-day tickets are available, and on Friday the regular, VIP, disability-access and children’s categories are available under the published conditions.
Entry, wristband and an important timing difference
The published opening information is not fully consistent. The visitor information page states that the festival gates are open every day from 12:00 to 03:00, while the description of the Friday single-day ticket states that access is available from 13:00 until 03:00 on Saturday. Because of this difference, the organizer’s latest notice should be checked before departure, and arrival should not be planned for the exact start of the first performance.
A security check is carried out at the entrance. After the ticket is checked, the visitor receives an identification wristband, which must be worn undamaged on the wrist and shown at the staff’s request. People under the age of 15 may enter only with a legal guardian or an adult who assumes supervision. Children under three years of age have free admission, while a special children’s ticket is provided for ages three to seven when accompanied by an adult.
What not to bring to the entrance
- your own food and drinks, glass containers, cans and plastic bottles
- weapons, knives, scissors, pyrotechnics, explosive or prohibited substances
- umbrellas, folding chairs, party tents and selfie sticks
- professional recording equipment without the appropriate accreditation
- luggage larger than A3 size, or approximately 13 liters, outside the camping zone
- bicycles, scooters, skateboards and similar means of transport inside the venue
- animals, except assistance dogs for people with disabilities
More practical choices are an identification document, health insurance card or proof of insurance, personal medication, head covering, sunscreen, sunglasses and a lightweight raincoat. Since bringing your own beverages is not permitted, water and other drinks should be planned for within the festival venue. Lost items are collected at the Lost and Found point by the main entrance.
Arriving by public transport, bus or train
Vajnory is not within Bratislava’s walkable central area, so transport should be arranged before the program begins. The festival instructions identify the OC Vajnory area as the main public transport point. Regular bus connections toward the Vajnory district include lines 52, 56 and 65, with transfers from tram routes coming from the wider city center. The timetable and temporary changes should be checked on the day of the event, especially for the return journey after midnight.
Direct bus connections from the Nivy bus station to the festival parking area, including nighttime return services, have also been advertised for the festival weekend. This option may be simpler than combining regular city routes, especially after the program ends at 03:00.
Arrival by train is possible via Bratislava-Vajnory station, which is connected to the city and regional network. Visitors arriving from Vienna, Budapest, Prague or other European cities can conveniently travel through Bratislava’s main railway station and then continue toward the Vajnory district. Bratislava is a compact city on the Danube, but the festival venue is not next to the Old Town, so sightseeing in the historic center and going to the festival should be treated as two separate parts of the day.
Parking, motorcycles and camping
Friday parking is located within the festival area and is available from 12:00 on Friday until 12:00 on Saturday. The parking area is monitored by security personnel. VIP parking is located closer to the main entrance and is available only with the appropriate VIP ticket. Special options are also provided for motorcycles, multi-day parking and caravans.
Arrival by car should be planned earlier. The festival traffic instructions warn of restrictions and potentially slow departures from the parking area after the program ends. A parking space should be secured in advance because purchasing one at the entrance is not recommended as an option that can be relied upon.
The campsite is organized directly beside the festival venue for the entire weekend. The offer includes a space for your own tent, camping beside a car and pre-pitched tents for two or three people. Showers, toilets and security supervision are listed in the camping area. Open flames, barbecues and gas stoves are prohibited throughout the entire site, including the campsite.
For the holder of a single-day ticket, camping is not automatically included. It is a separate festival service connected with a multi-day stay, so the access conditions and usage period should be checked before booking.
What kind of experience a first-time visitor can expect
Friday’s audience will not be uniform. The early part of the day attracts listeners of European pop, John Newman and Bebe Rexha gather an audience familiar with major radio choruses, while MEDUZA and the late-night Electronic Stage transform the venue into a dance festival. That transition is the day’s main characteristic: the same visitor can move within a few hours from a pop concert with a band to a melodic techno set.
The best plan is not to try to be in the front row for every performance. It is more important to choose two or three priorities, agree on a meeting point with your group in advance and leave time for food, toilets and moving between stages. Mobile networks can become overloaded at large gatherings, so an agreed physical meeting point is often more valuable than a series of messages.
Visitors attending only on Friday should pay particular attention to arranging their return journey. The final set lasts until 03:00, and at that time regular daytime connections are no longer sufficient for every direction. A festival bus booked in advance, a taxi, a designated driver or accommodation with a clear return route reduces the risk of the evening ending with a long wait as the venue closes.
LOVESTREAM is most appealing to audiences who want major pop performers but do not want to give up an electronic finale. Friday offers precisely that combination: Loi, Nico Santos and John Newman build the concert introduction, MEDUZA raises the level of the dance production, Bebe Rexha closes the Main Stage, and KOROLOVA and Plastik Funk B2B Dominik Gehringer continue until the early morning. Places are disappearing quickly.
