OFF Festival Katowice: an alternative program without genre boundaries
OFF Festival Katowice returns to Dolina Trzech Stawów with a program that does not build its hierarchy solely around the best-known names. Its identity rests on collisions between different scenes: psychedelic rock shares space with experimental rap, contemporary jazz, post-punk, electronic music, shoegaze, and artists whom the audience is only beginning to discover. It is precisely this curatorial logic that distinguishes OFF from festivals composed primarily of current radio hits.
The edition lasts three days, from Friday to Sunday, while the focus here is on a one-day visit on the first day. Friday offers a range extending from The Flaming Lips and Black Country, New Road to Earl Sweatshirt, The Dare, W.I.T.C.H., HTRK, and the new Polish jazz scene. This is not a program to be followed only in front of a single stage. The best plan includes several priorities and enough time to discover smaller performances.

A festival that chose music over format from the beginning
OFF was launched in 2006 in Mysłowice, at the initiative of Artur Rojek and Anna Rojek. Dana and Alden also approach jazz from the perspective of a younger audience, without breaking their connection to tradition.
The detailed hourly schedule takes place across several stages and is available on the festival website and in the mobile application. Because performances overlap, it is useful to mark three or four priorities in advance. The only performance time that needs to be highlighted here is The Flaming Lips at 23:40. Any possible changes should be checked on the day of arrival.
Six program spaces and the reason to plan a route
The program is distributed across six spaces: Scena BLIK, Scena mBank, Scena Leśna, Scena Trójki, Scena Eksperymentalna, and mBank OFF'N Jazz Club. Getting there from central Katowice and transport changes
A free S1 bus service has been introduced for the festival days on the circular route Katowice Sądowa - Os. Paderewskiego Trzy Stawy - Katowice Sądowa. The route also stops at Katowice Dworzec, the main railway station, which is useful for travelers arriving by train. The route of line 110 has also been changed, with its departures redirected toward the Os. Paderewskiego Trzy Stawy stop.
The main entrance is approximately 600 meters from the public transport stops. After the final concerts, visitors should expect a larger number of people moving toward the same stops at the same time. Instead of arriving at the last minute, it is better to leave extra time for walking, the security check, and finding the first stage.
A detailed plan for separate festival parking has not been clearly published in the verified information. Public transport is therefore a more predictable option than looking for a parking space near the park. It is possible to arrive by bicycle as far as the entrance: the bicycle can be left by the cloakroom in front of the main gate free of charge, using one's own lock. Bicycles, scooters, roller skates, and skateboards are not allowed inside the grounds.

Katowice beyond the festival grounds
Katowice is a UNESCO City of Music and the center of a large urban agglomeration in southern Poland. Visitors staying longer can combine the festival with the city's Culture Zone, which includes NOSPR, Muzeum Śląskie, and Spodek, or with the Nikiszowiec district, known for its red-brick workers' architecture. This context explains why the festival works so well here: the city combines industrial heritage, strong musical institutions, and large green areas.
For travelers from other countries, a base near the city center and the main railway station is practical, as the S1 line can be used from there.
