Sziget Festival 2026: three days on an island in the middle of Budapest
Sziget Festival 2026 takes place on Óbuda Island in Budapest from 11 to 15 August, and for visitors entering on 13 August, the three-day option covers the final part of the festival - 13, 14 and 15 August. That means three days with very different programmes: Thursday is headlined by Florence + The Machine and Lewis Capaldi, Friday turns towards a heavier sound with Bring Me The Horizon and Skepta, while Saturday ends with Jorja Smith and Skrillex on the Main Stage.
Sziget functions as a temporary festival city: alongside major concerts, there are electronic programmes, contemporary circus, dance, theatre, workshops and relaxation zones. More than 600 programmes have been announced for 2026, and the audience comes from more than 100 countries.

Thursday brings Florence + The Machine, Lewis Capaldi and a powerful night of electronic music
For a three-day visit beginning on 13 August, the first major reference point is the Main Stage. The programme builds from more intimate singer-songwriter and hip-hop expressions towards two major evening productions. Paris Paloma opens the main part of the day, followed by Loyle Carner, then Lewis Capaldi, while the evening ends with Florence + The Machine.

Loyle Carner brings British hip-hop, Lewis Capaldi major pop ballads, and Florence + The Machine art-pop and indie rock in a format adapted to a large open-air stage.
The Main Stage is the largest gathering place on the island and, according to festival information, accommodates up to 60,000 visitors. This is important for planning: performers near the top of the programme attract a large part of the audience, so arriving a few minutes before the start is not as practical as it is at smaller stages.
After the main programme, Thursday does not shut down. Parcels performs on the Revolut Stage from 23:45, while in the electronic zones the programme continues deep into the night. Dom Dolla is on the BOLT Night Stage from 02:30, and Boys Noize from 04:00. Yettel Colosseum brings Dixon, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin and Pan-Pot on the same night. A visitor who wants to combine a major pop or indie concert with house and techno can do so without changing the festival location - only the part of the island changes.
Friday changes the rhythm: from Sigrid and Skepta to Bring Me The Horizon
The second day of the three-day stay has a more pronounced contrast between pop, hip-hop, alternative music and hard rock. On the Main Stage, the programme begins with Karen Dió, continues with Sigrid and Skepta, and the final slot belongs to Bring Me The Horizon.

Sigrid brings melodic pop with prominent choruses, Skepta British grime and rap, and Bring Me The Horizon contemporary metal and rock that in recent years has moved freely between metalcore, electronic music and large-scale festival arrangements. That combination clearly shows why Sziget is not a festival of a single scene or one type of audience.
On the Revolut Stage, the later part of the evening brings Ski Aggu, Nia Archives and BUNT., while the BOLT Night Stage is taken over by Peggy Gou from 23:30, followed by Yulia Niko, Anfisa Letyago and Hiroko Yamamura. On other parts of the island on the same day, Baby Lasagna, Altin Gün, Annisokay and Beton.Hofi also perform. For a visitor who wants to build their own programme, this means that the biggest problem is often not a lack of content, but overlapping performers.
It is worth securing tickets in time.
Saturday closes the festival with Jorja Smith, Skrillex, Soulwax and drum and bass
The third day brings the final festival arc. The Main Stage begins with Sisi, continues with bbno$, then Jorja Smith arrives with a party set, and the final major slot belongs to Skrillex.

Jorja Smith brings a blend of soul, R&B, garage influences and contemporary British pop, while Skrillex closes the Main Stage with a production focused on bass music, electronic music and the rhythm of a large-scale festival format. For the audience that wants to continue the night afterwards, the Revolut Stage offers Charlotte Cardin, Soulwax and 2manydjs, while the BOLT Night Stage shifts into a drum and bass and bass programme with Sub Focus, Dimension and later sets.
Yettel Colosseum continues in a different electronic direction on Saturday and towards the end of the night includes Funk Tribu. In this way, the final day allows for very different endings: someone can stay with major performers and live bands, someone can move to drum and bass, while someone else can spend the final hours with techno and club sounds.
The island is part of the experience, not just the backdrop
Sziget takes place on Óbuda Island in the northern part of Budapest, in an area surrounded by the Danube. The address of the festival area is Május 9. park, 1033 Budapest. Unlike a stadium event, here the audience constantly moves throughout the day between open spaces, large stages, smaller music zones, campsites and artistic programmes.
The Main Stage serves the largest concerts. The Revolut Stage is the second major music venue and is particularly important for late live performances. The BOLT Night Stage focuses on electronic music and the night programme, while Yettel Colosseum has a pronounced club character. Alongside them are smaller spaces that change the pace of the day and make it possible to spend several hours without entering the largest crowds.
One of the best ways to understand Sziget's identity is to look at the programme beyond the music headliners. On Thursday, Magic Mirror, for example, has talks, stage performances and Ballroom Magic, while Le Grand Theatre presents contemporary circus and dance productions. CIRQUE du SZIGET brings separate circus performances, while The Joker combines board games, comedy, magic and late-night cabaret. These are the kinds of activities that give the festival the structure of a small city instead of an ordinary sequence of concert slots.
Tickets: a one-day, three-day and full festival stay are not the same experience
For 2026, there are Full Festival Pass, 3-Day Pass and Day Ticket options, along with VIP versions and a special 21&Under option for a full festival stay. For a visitor arriving on 13 August, the three-day combination from 13-15 August is important because it includes Florence + The Machine and Lewis Capaldi on Thursday, Bring Me The Horizon on Friday, and the final day with Skrillex and Jorja Smith.
A one-day ticket makes sense when the goal is one specific performer or one programme evening. A three-day ticket changes the rhythm of the visit because it leaves more room for exploring smaller stages, the night programme and non-musical zones. A full festival pass covers all five main festival days.
Check-in, identification and wristband: what to arrange before entry
For Sziget 2026, online check-in before entry has been introduced. Each visitor links their entry document to their own festival account and identification details. Upon arrival, a valid photographic identification document and a valid ticket are required. Tickets and passes are exchanged for a festival wristband, and the wristband must be worn throughout the entire period of validity.
For one-day tickets, the rule is clear: entry is possible from 08:00 on the day for which the ticket is valid, and the area must be left by 08:00 the following morning. For several consecutive days or passes, visitors should follow the validity period stated on their own ticket. Re-entry during the valid period is possible, but without a correct wristband there is no return to the festival area.
Bags and clothing are also checked at the entrance, so it is practical to reduce the amount of belongings carried through security. Bicycles and scooters are not allowed inside the festival area; there is a storage area for them by K Bridge.
Special rules apply to bringing in drinks; under normal conditions, one PET bottle of water or a non-alcoholic drink of up to 2.5 litres is permitted, excluding energy drinks.
How to reach Óbuda Island by public transport
The simplest connection from the city is the HÉV H5 suburban railway. The line runs via important Budapest transport hubs Batthyány tér and Margit híd, and for the festival visitors get off at Filatorigát station. During the festival period, H5 runs frequently, and this route is more practical than trying to reach the entrance itself by car.
For arrival from the airport, one option is bus 100E to the city centre, then metro M2 to Batthyány tér and HÉV H5 to Filatorigát. From the main railway stations, metro or tram services can also be combined with the H5 line. Budapest has a well-connected network, so for visitors staying in the city it is often easier to use public transport every day than a car.
Parking near the entrance is limited. Anyone arriving by car should check parking availability and traffic arrangements around the island in advance. H Bridge is closed to pedestrians and cyclists, while K Bridge is the key point for pedestrian access and bicycle parking.
Camping and staying on the island
Camping completely changes the way Sziget is experienced. Instead of returning to the city every day, the visitor remains within the festival system and can more easily continue with the programme until the early morning hours. For 2026, the campsites are open from 11 August at 08:00 until 16 August at 12:00, with separate rules for early entry and certain types of accommodation.
Classic and upgraded camping options, glamping, and an area for campervans and caravans are available. Anyone bringing their own tent should pay attention to the rules concerning bringing in and leaving tents after the festival. Accommodation and camping add-ons have separate conditions, so they should be checked together with the validity of the festival ticket.
How to organise three days without turning the festival into a race
The best plan for 13-15 August is not to try to see everything. The programme is too extensive, and many performances overlap. It is much more practical to choose two or three main priorities each day and leave room around them for discovering other zones.
- For Thursday, decide in advance whether the priority is the entire Main Stage sequence through Florence + The Machine or a later move towards Parcels, Dom Dolla and the techno programme.
- For Friday, expect a major change in energy between Sigrid, Skepta and Bring Me The Horizon and, before the evening, decide whether the night will continue with Nia Archives, BUNT. or Peggy Gou.
- For Saturday, reserve time for the final Main Stage programme, but leave open the possibility of moving to Soulwax, 2manydjs, Sub Focus, Dimension or Funk Tribu.
- Every day, include at least one activity outside the main music stages - circus, dance, Magic Mirror, a workshop or a smaller live performance.
For a first visit to Sziget, precisely this balance is the most important. The big names provide the framework of the day, but the identity of the festival is created between them - in moving from the Main Stage to a smaller stage, in a programme that was not on the initial list and in the fact that pop, grime, metal, house, techno, drum and bass, theatre and contemporary circus all meet on the same island.
