EuroCup is a European club basketball competition featuring 32 teams from different national leagues. The clubs are divided into four groups of eight, and in the first stage each team plays every group opponent at home and away, for a total of 14 games. The top four teams in each group advance to the playoffs. From the round of 16 through the final, every series is played as a best-of-three, so winning the title requires advancing through four elimination rounds.
The competition was launched at the beginning of the 21st century and has changed its name and format over time and brings clubs from many European leagues into direct competition. Valencia Basket is historically the most successful club with four titles, while Rytas and Khimki are among the teams to have won the trophy more than once. The list of champions also shows how the balance of power among European clubs can change over time.
Fixtures and results are followed by group and round. The standings are primarily shaped by wins and losses, while additional criteria such as head-to-head record and points difference are used when teams finish level. The first four places in each group lead to the playoffs, while lower positions mean elimination after the group stage. In the knockout phase, progress depends on the outcome of the series against a specific opponent.
Games are generally played from early autumn into spring, most often in the middle of the week, at the home arenas of clubs across Europe. A date or venue can change for organizational, security or travel reasons. When buying tickets, visitors should check the matchup, date, local tip-off time, arena, seating section, seller terms and any additional fees. Ticket links lead to partner platforms where the purchase is completed.
EuroCup is recognizable for its mix of different basketball traditions, loud arenas and the strong influence of home court. Clubs with passionate local support, regional rivalries and repeat postseason matchups often create the most intense atmospheres. Because the field of participants changes, the biggest rivalries are not always the same, but the intensity usually rises as the competition moves into elimination series and the fight for the title.
