Trabzonspor - Ferencvarosi TC: Papara Park opens a high-stakes two-legged tie
Trabzonspor and Ferencvarosi TC meet on 20 August at 20:00 local time at Papara Park, in the first leg of the Europa League qualifying play-offs. The return leg will be played a week later in Budapest, so the result in Trabzon will determine how much room both teams will have for calculation in the second part of the tie.
The hosts enter the match after the start of the new domestic league season, while Ferencvarosi TC already has significant European minutes behind it. Injuries change Tekke's options
The hosts also have specific injury concerns. Tim Jabol-Folcarelli injured the lateral meniscus of his right knee and underwent arthroscopic surgery at the beginning of August. As a result, he is not a realistic option for this match.
Ernest Muçi is also a doubt. After experiencing pain in training, an examination revealed a strain accompanied by bleeding and oedema in the upper part of the anterior muscle group of his left thigh. Ferencvarosi TC has already passed a difficult test

Dibusz, Zachariassen and Joseph as key figures in the visitors' plan
Dénes Dibusz is currently one of the most important figures in the visiting team. In Zabrze, he stopped several promising attempts and helped the side survive a period in which Gornik applied pressure. At Papara Park, his task could be even more demanding if Trabzonspor start with Onuachu and Salah.
Kristoffer Zachariassen provides running and late arrivals from deeper positions. It was after his contact with the ball in the penalty area that the move developed from which Ferencvarosi TC equalised in Poland. Lenny Joseph can exploit the space behind a high-positioned home defence, while Cadu is important because of set pieces and deliveries from the left side.
Ádám Nagy and Naby Keita give Borbély experience and the ability to change the rhythm from midfield. If Trabzonspor begin to dominate, the visiting coach can increase the number of players capable of retaining the ball under pressure. If Ferencvarosi TC have to chase the result, the available options also allow for a more aggressive setup.
The first goal can completely change the match
Trabzonspor will have a natural reason to take the initiative at home. That does not mean they have to attack without control. Ferencvarosi TC showed against Gornik that it can remain dangerous from set pieces and after rare ventures forward.
For the hosts, the most important thing is to open up the pitch without leaving too much space behind the full-backs. Salah's ability to attract two defenders can create space for midfielders or for a cross toward Onuachu. If the visiting defence stays very narrow, Trabzonspor will have to be patient and use the width.

The most interesting individual duel could develop on the side where Salah operates. Ferencvarosi TC will have to decide whether one full-back will take responsibility for him or whether midfield support will constantly be sent across. Every additional player focused on him leaves space elsewhere.
The second question is Onuachu. If Trabzonspor begin to cross frequently from the flanks, the visiting centre-backs will not be able to focus only on second balls and Salah's runs. They will also have to win aerial duels against a forward who can hold up the ball and allow the midfield to join the attack.
At the other end, Trabzonspor must be careful with set pieces. Cadu showed against Gornik how dangerous his delivery can be, and it was precisely a late corner in the return leg that led to the goal with which Ferencvarosi TC effectively sealed qualification.
The home team will therefore seek controlled aggression: enough players forward to put the visitors under pressure, but without unnecessary fouls and exposed transitions. Ferencvarosi TC will try to do the opposite - reduce the number of open situations, survive the initial surge and carry as much uncertainty as possible into the second part of the evening and then into the return leg.
