In the 5-0 victory over CFR Cluj, Heine Åsen Larsen scored in the 5th and 20th minutes, while Isak Dahlqvist added a hat-trick with goals in the 27th, 61st and 74th minutes. Such a distribution of goals illustrates well one of the dangers for Brighton: on a good night, Tromsø do not depend on only one finisher.
The return match against the Romanian team ended 2-1. Leon Hien scored as early as the 6th minute, and Isak Vådebu doubled the lead immediately after the break. Tromsø therefore completed the tie with a 7-1 aggregate score, which represents much more than merely advancing to the next round. Ruben Yttergård Jenssen brings experience to the centre of the team, while Jakob Haugaard is the last line of defence. Jørgen Vik has not hesitated to rotate players during qualifying, so even the line-up from the return leg against CFR Cluj should not automatically be viewed as an indication of an identical starting eleven against Brighton.
Brighton arrive with fewer competitive minutes, but with a clear warning from the match against Roma
For Brighton, Tromsø is the first competitive match of the new season. The English league season for Hürzeler's team begins only after the European away match, which gives the pre-season fixtures greater importance than usual.
The most important recent test before the final part of preparations was a 3-0 victory over Roma. Georginio Rutter opened the scoring in the 29th minute, Yasin Ayari scored in the 40th, and the same player added his second goal early in the second half. It was a good illustration of the way Fabian Hürzeler wants his team to play. - Bus 40 - get off at Alfheimvegen nord, followed by a short walk to the stadium.
- Bus 26 - get off near Sommerlyst skole, a few minutes' walk from the arena.
- Bus 28 - get off at Prestvannet, followed by a somewhat longer walk.
- Bus 24 - get off at Petersborggata and continue on foot towards the stadium.
- Car - do not count on parking immediately next to Romssa Arena.
Walking from the central part of the city is also a realistic option, particularly for visitors who want to avoid matchday traffic. The club describes the stadium as easily accessible from the centre, while the airport is also only a short drive away.
The opening time of the gates specifically for the match against Brighton had not been clearly confirmed enough at the time of checking. At previous home matches, the club opened the gates before kick-off with specific notices for each event, so for this fixture it is wiser to follow the latest information for matchday than to assume an identical schedule.
Tromsø as a destination for travelling supporters
For Brighton supporters, this is not a standard European away trip to a large continental city. Tromsø is located far north of the Arctic Circle and represents one of the most geographically unusual destinations an English team can draw in European qualifying.
