Planning a WWE night in Cleveland? WWE RAW & SmackDown brings professional wrestling to Rocket Arena on August 28, 2026, with names including Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Plan your ticket purchase and get ready for a combined night featuring WWE's two flagship shows
WWE RAW & SmackDown in Cleveland: what to expect at Rocket Arena
WWE returns to downtown Cleveland on Friday, August 28, 2026, with a format broader than a standard episode of SmackDown. Rocket Arena is promoting the program as "WWE RAW & SmackDown - Two Shows. One Night.", starting at 5:30 PM. The combined evening therefore includes stars associated with both main shows.
The current list includes Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Oba Femi, The Usos, Sami Zayn, Jade Cargill, Gunther, Trick Williams, Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, Penta, Sol Ruca and Liv Morgan. The lineup is subject to change, and a complete schedule of individual matches has not currently been announced for Cleveland. It is therefore best to view this announcement as confirmation of the breadth of the roster rather than as a finalized match card.
Tickets for this event are in demand. In a single evening, fans can follow stories and styles that would normally develop across Raw and SmackDown.
Main storylines leading into Cleveland
The most interesting part of WWE programming is not only who enters the ring, but also the relationship in which they arrive with the rest of the roster. Cleveland falls in the middle of several active storylines that are changing quickly from week to week.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are currently involved in one of the most heated conflicts on SmackDown. At SummerSlam, Orton interfered in Rhodes's attempt to win the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk, and their disagreements afterward escalated into a physical confrontation. On SmackDown in Boston, Orton attacked Rhodes before his match against Sami Zayn, after which a major brawl followed. Randy Orton is not on Rocket Arena's current lineup, so his appearance in Cleveland should not be assumed, but the conflict remains important context for Rhodes.
CM Punk comes to Cleveland out of an extremely unstable period surrounding the Undisputed WWE Championship. After retaining the title against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, he gained a new challenger when Kevin Owens returned and defeated Sami Zayn, Gunther and Finn Bálor in a Fatal 4-Way match for the number-one-contender position. Before Cleveland, Punk's title match against Owens has been announced for Toronto. Since that encounter had not yet taken place at the time of writing, it is impossible to know in advance what status Punk will have when he arrives at Rocket Arena.
On the Raw side, Roman Reigns is drawing attention. Reigns defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in a World Heavyweight Championship defense, in a match that made extensive use of their shared history in The Shield. Both men are now among the names advertised for Cleveland. That does not mean that a new match between them has been confirmed, but their recent history adds extra weight to any segment they share.
Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside the Hell in a Cell structure at SummerSlam and then found himself face to face with Bron Breakker on Raw. His performances are built around strength, control of space and explosive finishes, including Fall From Grace.
Stars and styles worth watching
If the announced roster remains unchanged, the audience will see markedly different approaches to professional wrestling.
- Roman Reigns - combines a controlled pace with sudden acceleration, and his signature moves include the Spear, Superman Punch and Guillotine.
- CM Punk - relies on a fighting rhythm, strikes, changes of pace and the G.T.S. and Anaconda Vise finishers.
- Cody Rhodes - is dynamic between the ropes, uses the Cody Cutter and Cross Rhodes and often builds a match through a series of dramatic finishing attempts.
- Seth Rollins - is mobile and unpredictable, with a strong emphasis on strikes, changes of rhythm and the Stomp as his most recognizable finisher.
- Oba Femi - represents pure physical force, with an emphasis on throws, carrying opponents and Fall From Grace.
- Penta - brings a lucha libre rhythm, quick changes of direction and spectacular sequences that differ from the heavier styles of Reigns or Femi.
- Sol Ruca - is extremely athletic and uses the Sol Snatcher, a move that can come from highly unexpected positions.
- Liv Morgan - currently belongs among the leaders of the women's division, with quick transitions and a pronounced sense of timing within a match.
The women's lineup additionally includes Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Cargill relies on strength and explosiveness, Flair combines athleticism with experience and her recognizable Figure-Eight Leglock, while Stratton is known for the acrobatic Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Their storylines have intersected in recent weeks: at SummerSlam, all three were part of the Ladder Match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship, while Stratton subsequently lost the Women's United States Championship to Jacy Jayne.
Trick Williams and Gunther offer another contrast. Williams's performance relies heavily on the energy of the crowd, while Gunther builds matches through pressure, precise strikes and physical discipline.
Why the combined format changes the pace of the evening
A televised WWE show combines matches, talking segments, entrances and continuing storylines. When an arena announces Raw and SmackDown on the same evening, the number of potential participants and transitions between different narratives increases.
That does not mean every advertised wrestler will have a long singles match. Some names may appear in talking segments, tag-team encounters or shorter storyline continuations. Changes of pace are part of the production: a slower match may be followed by a fast tag-team contest and then the entrance of a major star with different lighting and music.
The difference between match types also changes the viewing experience. A singles match usually gives more room to the relationship between two characters and one-on-one tactics. A tag-team match introduces partner changes, isolation of one team member and a greater number of sudden interruptions. A championship match carries extra weight because the title is directly at stake. A special stipulation, such as a Ladder Match or Hell in a Cell, changes the rules and structure of the match. For Cleveland, none of these special stipulations should be expected until they are officially announced.
Arena atmosphere: entrances are a major part of the experience
WWE live looks different from television because the audience simultaneously follows the ring, the production and the reactions around them. Roman Reigns's entrance has a different rhythm from Punk's or Rhodes's, while Seth Rollins often gets a strong reaction from the very first notes of his music.
With televised wrestling, it is important to arrive early enough not to miss the opening production. Rocket Arena lists doors opening at 4:00 PM for this evening, while the program starts at 5:30 PM. That leaves time for the security check, finding the seating section and getting inside before the first important segment.
Seats are disappearing quickly. For an event with such a broad list of names, it is worth securing tickets in time, especially if the goal is to choose a particular view of the ring or stage.
Rocket Arena and getting to downtown Cleveland
Rocket Arena is located at 1 Center Court in the Gateway District in downtown Cleveland. When arriving by car, it is important to account for current road construction. The arena notes the closure of the eastbound exit from I-90 toward East 9th Street until the end of October, as well as lane restrictions on Huron Road and Ontario Street until mid-November.
Great Day Improvements Garage and JACK Cleveland Casino Garage together provide spaces for 3,300 vehicles. Great Day Improvements Garage is connected to the arena by a covered walkway, and an event ticket is required to enter through that passage. The arena also lists several additional parking facilities within approximately a five- to ten-minute walk. Great Day Improvements Garage uses a cashless system for events, so it is practical to prepare a card or another supported payment method in advance.
Public transportation may be a simpler choice. RTA connects different parts of Cuyahoga County by buses and rapid transit, while the enclosed RTA Walkway connects Tower City Center with Rocket Arena. The walkway is 1,050 feet long, opens three hours before the event and remains open for approximately three hours after it ends. For passengers arriving from other parts of the city, this makes it possible to reach the arena without searching for a parking space in its immediate vicinity.
Entry rules worth checking before departure
Rocket Arena limits bag sizes and prohibits a range of items that present a security issue in a large venue. Bags and purses may be no larger than 14 x 14 x 6 inches and must fit under the seat without blocking aisles. Prohibited items include large bags and backpacks, bottles and cans, outside food and drinks, professional cameras with interchangeable lenses, drones, laser pointers and various types of noise-making devices.
The arena also applies a no-reentry rule after leaving, except in medical or emergency situations. This is particularly important during a longer evening: everything needed for the time spent inside should be planned before passing through security.
For visitors who are sensitive to excessive sound, light or crowds, the arena offers a Sensory Room. WWE production uses loud music, sudden sound effects, intense lighting and pyrotechnics, so this information is useful for families and people who are sensitive to stimuli.
Cleveland as a base for attending the event
Rocket Arena is located in a pedestrian-active part of downtown, in the Gateway District and close to transportation connections through Tower City Center. For travelers coming from outside Cleveland, a practical advantage is that the arena is in the central city area rather than an isolated suburb. Hotels, restaurants and public transportation are available throughout the wider downtown area, so it is not necessary to use a car for every part of the stay.
If arriving by car from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, the route toward downtown runs via I-71 and the Innerbelt. Because of the mentioned construction around East 9th Street and the Gateway District, it is useful to check current traffic conditions immediately before departure, even if the route is familiar.
What to watch immediately before the show
The most important variable information will be the match card. At the moment, the arena lists a large number of stars but not the complete pairings for the ring. The week between Toronto and Cleveland could change the relationships among champions, challengers and rivals, particularly around CM Punk and Kevin Owens and the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton storyline.
It is also worth following the development of Raw storylines involving Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Oba Femi, The Usos, Penta, Sol Ruca and Liv Morgan. Some of these names are already connected to active tournaments, championships or conflicts, so the combined format in Cleveland could be used to continue several storylines on the same evening without having to invent in advance who will wrestle whom.
Ticket sales for this event are underway. The most useful approach is to plan arrival according to the door-opening time, leave an additional buffer because of traffic and expect that the order of segments may change right up until the show.
