UFC returns to Doha on November 21: new Fight Night after sold-out debut in Qatar
UFC will return to Doha on November 21, 2026, with a new edition of UFC Fight Night, UFC and Visit Qatar confirmed on September 17. The event will once again be held at Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena, known as ABHA Arena, the same venue where the organization held an event in Qatar for the first time in November 2025. According to UFC's official announcement, tickets are expected to go on sale on Friday, October 9, while interested visitors can already register for sales notifications. The main event, the rest of the fight card and the final bout schedule had still not been announced as of September 18. On the official event page, UFC currently lists the event as "TBD vs TBD", confirming that the fighters' names have yet to be revealed.
The return after only one year shows that last year's debut did not remain a one-off project. After the first event, Visit Qatar announced that it had attracted more than 8,000 spectators and that all available tickets had been sold out. UFC President and CEO Dana White also emphasized in the new announcement that the first event in Doha was successful, specifically highlighting the crowd atmosphere and the sold-out arena. For an organization that in recent years has increasingly expanded its calendar beyond the traditional markets of North America, a second consecutive visit to Qatar further strengthens UFC's presence in the Middle East. For Doha, meanwhile, it means another major international sporting event in the final part of the year, during a period when the country hosts a series of major competitions, concerts, fairs and other events.
Second UFC Fight Night in Qatar arrives on November 21
According to UFC's official announcement, the new event is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026, at ABHA Arena. The organizers have not yet announced the timing of the individual parts of the program, while details about the preliminary and main bouts are expected later. UFC's official event page confirms the location and date but does not yet list the names of the participants. This means that at this stage it is not possible to reliably discuss either the weight classes that will be represented or potential fights for ranking positions. Since a little more than two months remain until the event, the list of bouts could be announced gradually, as is customary with UFC Fight Night events.
Ticket sales are scheduled to begin on October 9. UFC is inviting interested fans to register in advance through its official Qatar page to receive information about the start of sales. Ticket prices, seating categories and any special packages had not been specified at the time this report was published, so they cannot be confirmed in advance. Visitors planning a trip are advised to follow the organizers' official channels because, at major sporting events, sector availability, entry rules and schedules can change as the event date approaches. Given that the first edition was sold out, interest in early purchases could once again be high, but the actual level of demand will only be possible to assess after sales begin.
Last year's debut sold out with more than 8,000 spectators
The first UFC Fight Night in Qatar was held on November 22, 2025, in the same arena. According to data published by Visit Qatar after the event, more than 8,000 spectators attended, and all tickets were sold. Organizers also reported an international audience, including visitors from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. The program featured 14 bouts with a total of 28 UFC fighters, divided between the preliminary and main portions of the evening. Such a response gave the organizers a concrete reason to put Doha back on the calendar only one year later.
The main event of the inaugural Qatar event in 2025 was a lightweight bout between Arman Tsarukyan and Dan Hooker. According to UFC's official results, Tsarukyan won by submission, via arm-triangle choke, at 3:34 of the second round. In the co-main event, Ian Machado Garry defeated former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision. The card also featured Volkan Oezdemir against Alonzo Menifield, Jack Hermansson against Myktybek Orolbai, as well as Kyoji Horiguchi's return to the UFC against Tagir Ulanbekov. The fact that the debut evening combined highly ranked fighters, well-known names and an international audience is important context for expectations surrounding the 2026 edition, although no new names have yet been confirmed.
UFC presented its first arrival in Qatar in 2025 as part of the expansion of its events in the region. Doha thereby joined Middle Eastern locations where the organization regularly or occasionally stages major MMA events. The United Arab Emirates, especially Abu Dhabi, have had a prominent place in UFC's international schedule for years, while the organization has also staged events in Saudi Arabia in recent years. A second event in Qatar does not necessarily mean that Doha will become a permanent annual stop, but it confirms the continuation of cooperation between UFC and Visit Qatar following the positive commercial and attendance result of the first edition.
ABHA Arena once again at the center of the event
Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena is a multifunctional indoor sports arena in the Al Rayyan area, within the wider urban area of Doha. On its official website, the Qatar Olympic Committee lists a capacity of 7,700 seats and notes that the arena is used for major competitions in sports such as handball and basketball. Visit Qatar describes it as one of Doha's leading indoor arenas, and over the years it has hosted international sporting competitions and entertainment programs. The exact number of seats available for UFC may differ from the standard capacity because combat sports events use their own configuration for the Octagon, production, media zones and seating. That is why the figure of more than 8,000 visitors at last year's event should be viewed in the context of the special event configuration cited by the organizers.
For spectators, the arena's location on Al Nadi Street, in a well-connected part of the Doha metropolitan area, is also important. In its practical information, Visit Qatar states that the city is connected by a system of metro, buses, taxis and other forms of transport, while Doha Metro has three lines linking the airport, central city districts and several key areas. Final recommendations for reaching the arena itself on the day of the event will nevertheless depend on special traffic arrangements and any instructions issued by the organizers. At major sporting events, temporary changes in access, traffic routing or recommendations to use certain stations and transport routes are possible. Visitors should therefore check updated information from UFC, Visit Qatar and local transport services shortly before November 21.
The event fits into Qatar's expanded sports and entertainment calendar
UFC's return was announced almost simultaneously with the presentation of the new Qatar Calendar for the 2026/2027 season. On September 16, Qatar News Agency, citing Qatar Tourism, reported that the unified national calendar contains more than 560 events, with the participation of nearly 780 partners and stakeholders. The program includes sports, culture, entertainment and other events, while Visit Qatar serves as one of the main platforms for their international promotion. According to the same source, Qatar's tourism institutions want major events to increase spending in hospitality, retail and transport and to support broader economic diversification. UFC Fight Night thus becomes one part of a much broader strategy of attracting international sports and entertainment content.
Visit Qatar CEO Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi said in the official announcement of UFC's return that Fight Night represents an important addition to the country's growing calendar of major sporting events. His message fits into the broader direction of Qatar's tourism strategy, which seeks to distribute events throughout the year and connect them with accommodation, gastronomy, culture and transport offerings. When presenting the new calendar, Qatar Tourism stated that more than five million people visited the country in 2025, with hotel occupancy above 71 percent and 10.8 million overnight stays recorded. These figures cannot be attributed to UFC or to any individual sporting event, but they explain why authorities and tourism institutions continue to invest in a schedule of international events. For organizers, such an environment is important because it enables sporting content to be linked with already developed infrastructure for international visitors.
What is not yet known: main event, fighters and detailed schedule
The biggest open questions concern the fight card. As of September 18, 2026, UFC had not officially announced who would headline the event or which fights would make up the main and preliminary portions of the evening. The official event page states only that it is a UFC Fight Night at ABHA Arena on November 21, with the temporary opponent designation "TBD vs TBD". No details have been announced regarding any ranked fighters, returning fighters or names of local and regional interest. Any claims about specific bouts before official confirmation should therefore be treated as unconfirmed.
UFC often adds to Fight Night cards over several weeks, while injuries, health problems or other circumstances can lead to changes even after the initial announcement. This also happened before the Qatar event in 2025, when part of the card was changed shortly before the event. For the public, the most reliable source is therefore the official event page, where final matchups and results are updated as the organization confirms them. Information about television and streaming broadcasts may also depend on the market, so viewers worldwide should check availability with local rights holders when UFC publishes the detailed schedule. For now, only the venue and date of the event, as well as the ticket sales start date, have been confirmed.
Planning a trip to Doha for UFC Fight Night
For international visitors who want to combine the event with a stay in Qatar, Visit Qatar publishes basic information about visas, arrival, transport and accommodation on its official UFC Fight Night page. Entry rules depend on nationality and travel document. According to current information from Visit Qatar, citizens of more than 100 countries have some form of visa-free entry, while other travelers may require an e-visa or another procedure through the Hayya platform. Because visa regimes can change, travelers should check the conditions immediately before booking their trip rather than relying solely on general information. Hamad International Airport is Doha's main international air hub, and Visit Qatar states that it is connected to the city by the metro's Red Line.
November in Doha is part of a period in which a large number of international events are held, so visitors who already know they want to attend the event would reasonably benefit from checking accommodation offers in Doha for the UFC Fight Night weekend early. The choice of district may depend on whether they want to be closer to ABHA Arena, central Doha, the airport or other attractions. The organizers have not yet announced special transport or accommodation packages linked to tickets, so such options should not be assumed until they are officially announced. The exact time when the arena doors will open, the preliminary bouts will begin and the main program will start has also not been announced. These details will be crucial for planning arrival on the day of the event.
UFC and Doha expect continued interest after the first edition
The announcement of the second UFC Fight Night in Qatar comes less than ten months after the sold-out debut and gives organizers an opportunity to see whether audience interest can become sustainable from year to year. The first edition attracted more than 8,000 spectators and featured a card with a number of well-known fighters, so the lineup of the new event will be one of the main factors affecting ticket demand. Nevertheless, UFC has so far not tried to raise expectations by announcing individual stars, instead publishing only the date, location and start of ticket sales. Such an approach leaves a number of possibilities open for the main event, but it also means that fans should follow further official announcements before purchasing. The next important date is therefore October 9, when public ticket sales are expected to begin.
For Doha, the event continues a period of intensive development of its sports and tourism calendar, while UFC gains another international stop in a region where it already has a strong audience. The confirmed fact that the organization is returning to the same arena after the sold-out inaugural edition is the clearest indication of the continuation of the partnership between UFC and Visit Qatar. Everything that most interests MMA fans - from the main event and co-main event to the rest of the fight card and the precise schedule - has yet to be announced. Until then, it is certain that the Octagon will return to ABHA Arena on November 21, 2026, while ticket sales are expected to begin six weeks earlier.
