Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center

Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center stands out for its contemporary geometric architecture and distinctive profile in West Texas. Completed in 2011, the center later received recognition in the USITT Architecture Awards. Its main auditorium accommodates up to 1,827 guests and is designed for concerts, theatrical productions, symphonic performances, and other major live events.

Inside, the venue combines clear views of the stage with carefully designed acoustics. Seating is arranged across three levels, including the orchestra floor and two balconies, while modern sound and lighting systems support a wide range of productions. The spacious Grand Lobby features limestone details inspired by the West Texas landscape, with concession and beverage counters available in the lobby during events.

The venue is located at 1310 N FM 1788, Midland, United States, near the intersection of FM 1788 and Highway 191. Event parking is available directly at the complex, while designated accessible parking spaces are positioned immediately in front of the main entrance for convenient access to the building. For broader transportation options and getting around Midland, the general city guide below provides additional practical information.

Midland, in West Texas, is a city with a strong identity and a practical base for visitors arriving for sports events, concerts, fairs, and large gatherings. Its energy is tied to the Permian Basin, but also to a growing selection of venues for entertainment, business meetings, and cultural programs. Arenas, stadiums, and multifunctional spaces are arranged in a way that keeps the city clear and easy to plan, which is especially important when a visit is organized around tickets, accommodation, and transportation.

Midland’s infrastructure is suited to visitors who want to reach events quickly without complicated transfers. Midland International Air & Space Port is the main airport for arrivals in the city, while local public transportation EZ-Rider connects Midland and Odessa through city routes, including departure points around the Downtown Transfer Plaza in the Texas & Fort Worth area. For arrivals by bus, the Midland (Stripes) stop is also available at 4001 Farm To Market 1788, and travelers using a car or rideshare can easily navigate toward locations such as Midland County Horseshoe, Bush Convention Center, and sports facilities in the wider city area. Thanks to the relatively simple road network, distances between hotels, restaurants, and event venues can usually be planned without major difficulty.

Before or after a concert, match, or performance, Midland offers enough attractions for a relaxed continuation of the stay. Downtown Midland is a good choice for a walk, dinner, and an urban impression of the city, while Centennial Park provides a green space in the center with places to rest, walk, and occasional outdoor programs. For a cultural addition, it is worth visiting the Museum of the Southwest, which combines art, family-oriented offerings, and a planetarium, or exploring historical and museum attractions connected with the development of West Texas. Midland therefore combines the practicality of an event city with an authentic local character, making it a suitable destination for visitors who want more than just entry into the venue.
