De La Warr Pavilion

De La Warr Pavilion is a prominent cultural centre and one of the United Kingdom’s most important Modernist public buildings. Designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff, its curved façades, extensive glazing and spiral staircase are distinctive examples of the International Style. The Grade I listed landmark was also Britain’s first public building constructed with a welded steel frame. Its main auditorium can accommodate up to 1,000 visitors in a theatre-style layout, with configurations adapted for concerts, comedy, performances and other events.
