The Guild Theatre - Menlo Park combines the character of a historic cinema with the facilities of a modern performance venue. Opened in 1926, the building was extensively reconstructed while retaining its recognizable vertical sign and entrance marquee, and its interior was redesigned as an intimate hall accommodating approximately 500 standing visitors or around 200 seated guests. A generously sized stage, tiered main floor and mezzanine provide clear sightlines and keep performers close to the audience.
Warm wooden finishes and perforated acoustic panels help control unwanted sound reflections, while the professional sound system is designed for concerts, film screenings, comedy and special programs. Most events feature a general-admission standing floor and reserved mezzanine seating, although the configuration may change according to the production. Two bars serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and accessible facilities are available on both levels.
The entrance is located at 949 El Camino Real, Menlo Park, United States, beneath the restored historic marquee that is clearly visible from the main road. The venue does not have a large dedicated parking area, but several public parking lots and parking at Menlo Park Caltrain Station are within a short walk; the station itself is approximately three to five minutes away on foot. Further information about reaching and travelling around Menlo Park is provided in the city description below.
