At the beginning of August, Petrinja becomes the center of vibrant events that include a rich offer of cultural, traditional, religious, and entertainment content. Located in the centuries-old city park, known as Strossmayer's Promenade, these events bring a lively atmosphere that reflects the rich heritage of the Petrinja region. Local craftsmen showcase their creativity through exhibitions of handicrafts, souvenirs, and utilitarian items, while visitors can admire the diversity of folk costumes from the Pokuplje and Zrinska Gora regions. The main event, Lovrenčevo, officially begins on August 1st and lasts for over ten days, offering a diverse and rich program. This period includes the celebration of the feast of St. Lawrence, as well as Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Veterans Day, and the Liberation Day of Petrinja.

Diverse Event Program
Thursday, August 1st, marks the opening of the exhibition titled "Novak in Petrinja" by Ivan Novak, which will be held at the City Munjara starting at 8:00 PM.

From Thursday to Saturday, August 1st to 3rd, at 6:00 PM, sports enthusiasts can enjoy a futsal tournament that will be held at the handball stadium.

Friday, August 2nd, is reserved for commemorating the 33rd anniversary of ZNG Petrinja. A special futsal tournament will be held at the Mate Lovrak Petrinja Primary School sports hall from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. At the same time, the Veterans Petrinja Motorcycle Club organizes motorcycle meetings at the City Bathing Area. At 8:00 PM, all visitors can enjoy a concert by the group 'Pali anđeli.'

Saturday, August 3rd, continues with motorcycle meetings at the City Bathing Area, and a motorcade through the city is planned at 6:30 PM. In the evening, at 8:00 PM, concerts by famous music groups 'Pleteri' and 'Divlje jagode' are scheduled, which will surely attract many visitors.

Commemoration of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day
Monday, August 5th, is dedicated to Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and Croatian Veterans Day. A solemn holy mass for the Homeland will be held at 9:00 AM in the parish church of St. Lawrence.

Liberation Day and the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord
Tuesday, August 6th, will mark the Liberation Day of the city of Petrinja, Croatian Veterans Day of Petrinja, and the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The program begins at 5:30 AM with the Dawn of Pride and Glory. At 10:00 AM, a commemoration will follow with the laying of wreaths and paying tribute to all the fallen, missing, and deceased Croatian soldiers and civilian victims of the Homeland War at the Monument to Colonel Predrag Matanović and comrades at Senjak. In the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Slatina, a solemn procession will be held at 10:50 AM, followed by a solemn holy mass at 11:00 AM, led by the most reverend mons. Josip Mrzljak, retired bishop of Varaždin. In the evening, at 7:00 PM, Rev. Ivan Sandrin will lead a thanksgiving holy mass.

Solemn Session of the City Council
Friday, August 9th, is reserved for the solemn session of the City Council of the City of Petrinja, which will be held at the POU Croatian Home starting at 7:00 PM. This session provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and plans for the further development of the city.

Celebration of Petrinja City Day and the Feast of St. Lawrence

Saturday, August 10th, brings a rich program of celebrating Petrinja City Day and the Feast of St. Lawrence. From 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, visitors can enjoy the presentation of the cultural heritage of the Petrinja region. An open day at the Croatian Home will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while the City Munjara will be open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the exhibition "Novak in Petrinja" by Ivan Novak. The Toy Festival on the go will also take place throughout the day. At 9:00 AM, KUDs and folklore ensembles of the Petrinja region will perform, and a solemn procession will take place at 10:30 AM. A solemn holy mass, led by Rev. Branko Koretić, will be held at 11:00 AM in the Parish Church of St. Lawrence. After that, at 12:00 PM, a performance by Laura Sučec & band will follow. The program continues at 3:00 PM with a performance by Sara Renar, and then at 5:00 PM with a concert by Bruno Urlić and Mavi Kan. The evening holy mass in the Parish Church of St. Lawrence is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

Concerts and Music Program
The evening hours bring musical treats at the City Bathing Area. At 9:30 PM, a concert by Miroslav Škoro will be held, and the fun continues at 11:30 PM with DJ Fish, who will ensure a top-notch atmosphere for all lovers of good music.

On Sunday, August 11th, starting at 8:00 PM, a concert by Lela Kaplowitz will be held on Strossmayer's Promenade, which will be a perfect end to a rich week of events.
