On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Vodice will once again host the sixth marenda as part of the successful project "Taste like... marenda." This event will take place at Prince Branimir Square, in the idyllic Đardin, where visitors will be able to enjoy a rich spectrum of traditional dishes. The event prides itself on engaging local chefs from renowned establishments such as Strikoman’s Bistro and konoba Makina, who will prepare a variety of dishes that will delight every gastronomy enthusiast.

This marenda is not just a culinary event, but also a cultural spectacle. Renowned winemakers from the region are expected to attend, including Vinoplod Winery Šibenik, Vinarija Baraka, and Vinarija Birin. This wine offering will enrich the marenda experience and provide a perfect combination with traditional dishes that will be available to visitors. In addition, participants will be able to enjoy educational workshops that will enhance their knowledge of local culture and gastronomy, all complemented by a top-notch music program that will accompany the event.

Each marenda in Vodice begins with an educational introduction led by a professional team from the Tourist Guide Association Mihovil Šibenik. These guides will share fascinating stories about local tradition and the history of the dishes being prepared. In this way, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of each dish they taste, while simultaneously connecting with local culture.

The marenda menus include specialties prepared from fresh, seasonal ingredients specific to this area. Various specialties are expected, such as tuna goulash, orzo with vegetables and beans, which will showcase the richness of local flavors and tradition. These dishes will be served alongside a selection of premium wines that will further enhance the taste of traditional dishes and create a unique gastronomic experience.

Alongside excellent food and wine, the atmosphere will be further enhanced by the music ensemble M.S.A.Q., which will perform various musical genres, creating a relaxed and enjoyable ambiance. This combination of music, food, and good wine is a perfect opportunity to socialize with friends and family, reviving the spirit of community that is so important to the culture of Dalmatia.

In addition to food and drink, the marenda will also offer local products from various family farms (OPG). At the stands, one can find honey from OPG Mile Ledenko and OPG Ante Bulat, various types of flowers from OPG Gorke Trokić, as well as handmade jewelry from the BeYou Craft. Homemade dairy products, such as cow's cheese and yogurt from OPG Ranch4me, olive oil from OPG Zlatko Srdarev, and goat cheese from OPG Đidara will further enrich the offer.

For the youngest visitors, creative workshops are organized that will include preparing salty dough for modeling, with the goal of combining play and learning through cooking. Adults will have the opportunity to participate in making traditional pastries such as lepinjica, prispalja, and pecipala. These workshops will be an excellent opportunity to learn old culinary skills while also being a fun experience.

The marenda is a perfect opportunity for all lovers of good food and wine to gather and enjoy a unique experience. This event not only promotes local culture and gastronomy, but also encourages the community to collaborate and connect through shared activities and experiences. Vodice takes pride in its wealth of flavors and traditions, and the marenda is an ideal opportunity to showcase them.

We expect you on Saturday, October 5, at 10 a.m., at the marenda in Vodice. You should not miss this event as it brings a wealth of tastes, scents, and sounds that will delight you and encourage you to return to this beautiful Dalmatian place.
