CM Punk is once again at the center of WWE’s main storyline after winning the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sami Zayn on the edition of Monday Night Raw held on July 6, 2026. Sol Ruca defended the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Raquel Rodriguez after IYO SKY neutralized Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Chad Gable and Dragon Lee, and the continuation of the segment included an attack on Joe Hendry as well. Paul Heyman also appeared on the program as part of the story build around the match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell environment at SummerSlam. For Gunther, the attack has already fulfilled its purpose because it prevented the announced rematch and changed the outcome of the evening, but at the same time it puts him under the scrutiny of management and rivals in the story.
