WWE SummerSlam arrives at U.S. Bank Stadium as a two-night program that brings together championship matches, long-running rivalries, tag team clashes and special stipulations over the same weekend. Night one takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026. For visitors, the most important practical distinction is this: a single-day ticket grants admission only to the selected night, not to the entire SummerSlam weekend.
According to information from U.S. Bank Stadium, the doors open at 2:30 p.m., while the program is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. local time. Arriving earlier makes sense because of security screening, the large number of visitors and the need to find the correct entrance. Visitors with floor tickets must enter through Upper Pentair Gate on the stadium's south side, along South 6th Street, where they will receive a wristband.
Tickets for this event are in high demand. It is especially important to check that a single-day ticket is valid for Saturday night, because SummerSlam continues on Sunday.
Why the event at U.S. Bank Stadium matters
SummerSlam 2026 is WWE's first stadium event in Minneapolis and also the city's first Premium Live Event since TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019. U.S. Bank Stadium opened in 2016, has a standard capacity of 66,200 seats and features a fixed roof, a large portion of which is transparent. The audience therefore gets the controlled conditions of an indoor venue while still receiving daylight during the earlier part of the program.

Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar inside the Hell in a Cell structure
Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar enter Hell in a Cell after a series of clashes in which Femi defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 before Lesnar responded at Clash in Italy. For Femi, this is his first Hell in a Cell match, while Lesnar already has experience inside the structure.

What SummerSlam is like live inside the stadium

A large part of the experience comes from the entrance stage, music, LED screens, spotlights and the moment when the entire stadium recognizes the first notes of someone's theme. U.S. Bank Stadium has a fixed roof and an air-conditioned interior, so weather conditions have less impact on the program itself. Still, moving through such a large venue requires planning. It is useful to locate the section, nearest restrooms and exit before the main matches. During popular entrances, the concourses fill quickly, and returning to a seat may mean missing the beginning of a match.
Seats are disappearing quickly. Anyone planning to attend only night one should compare the date on the ticket with the final schedule, because a two-night format does not mean that both nights have the same program.
Entry rules worth checking
A Clear Bag Policy is in effect for SummerSlam. Clear bags made of plastic, vinyl or PVC measuring up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches are permitted, as is one small clutch measuring up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Metal-detector screening and bag inspections are conducted at the entrances, and the stadium has no storage area for prohibited items.
- One factory-sealed, single-use bottle of water of up to 32 oz is permitted per person.
- A camera may have a lens up to 3 inches long.
- Signs larger than 18 x 24 inches are not permitted.
- Backpacks, non-transparent bags, selfie sticks, video cameras and laptops are not permitted.
- Cash is not accepted inside the stadium; a card or contactless payment is required.
- After leaving, re-entry with the same ticket is generally not permitted.
Masks may be brought inside, but they may be worn only at the holder's own seat, not in hallways or passageways. Free wheelchair escorts are available at the entrances, and the stadium also provides free Wi-Fi.
Arrival, parking and the public transport change
U.S. Bank Stadium is located at 401 Chicago Avenue in the East Town district. The stadium does not operate public parking facilities, but it lists more than 20,000 parking spaces between the stadium and Hennepin Avenue, within a walking distance of approximately 20 minutes. Stadium Parking Ramp is connected to the stadium by the skyway system. Parking facilities usually open six hours before the start and close two hours after the end, but the rules at individual locations may differ.
Public transport is normally convenient because U.S. Bank Stadium Station is located beside the venue. However, during SummerSlam weekend, buses replace all METRO Blue Line trains from Target Field to Mall of America until August 19, 2026. The Green Line through downtown resumes service from July 27 to August 15, so it remains useful for arrivals from the direction of St. Paul and parts of Minneapolis. Passengers arriving from MSP Airport should not count on the usual direct Blue Line train, but instead on replacement buses and a longer travel time.
Ride-hailing zones are located on 9th Avenue South between 6th Street South and 7th Street South, and on 3rd Street between Park Avenue and Portland Avenue. Crowds should be expected after the show, so it is useful to arrange a meeting point farther away from the main exits.
Minneapolis before and after the show
The stadium is in East Town, an area connecting Downtown East, Elliot Park and the Mill District. Nearby are restaurants, city walking paths and attractions along the Mississippi River, while the central part of the city can be explored on foot or by public transport. For visitors arriving early, it is practical to remain in the stadium and Mill District area instead of travelling longer distances through downtown immediately before the doors open.
MSP Airport has public transport stations at both terminals, but summer construction work changes the usual connection to downtown. The current journey planner should therefore be checked on the day of arrival, especially for the return trip after the show. It is worth securing tickets in time, but it is equally important to arrange a transport plan in advance.
