This year in Belgrade, at the prestigious Metropol Palace hotel, a festive gala dinner was held, gathering leading public relations experts from around the world to attend the prestigious IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) ceremony. This award, which is also referred to as the 'PR Oscar' in the PR industry, is given for excellence in communication projects on a global scale, and its significance is confirmed by the large number of applications from various countries.
The agency Manjgura from Croatia, which has been achieving success in international competitions for many years, is this year's winner in the public sector category. Their awarded campaign titled 'Justice Served: Historic Rise of Judges' Salaries' stood out for its communication strategy supporting the Croatian Judges Association (UHS) in demands for salary increases. The project, conducted during 2023 and 2024, was crowned with success, becoming the largest salary increase in the history of the Croatian judiciary. This campaign further strengthened Manjgura's reputation as one of the most influential PR agencies in the region.
Krešimir Macan, the founder and director of Manjgura, along with Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić and Dora Novak, led this campaign, which lasted ten months. According to Macan, the key to success was precise and timely communication that involved all stakeholders – from the media to political structures and the wider public. 'This historic result shows how effective communication is crucial for success in all sectors, especially in public institutions,' said Macan.
This award is just a continuation of the success that Manjgura is achieving this year. In addition to the GWA recognition, Manjgura won gold at the Grand PRix of the Croatian Public Relations Association in April for the conference 'Sales Mindset: The Wolf Strikes Again,' where the main star was Jordan Belfort, known as 'The Wolf of Wall Street.' They also won two Polaris awards in London for political communication.
The GWA awards this year were presented in 38 different categories, with the Croatian PR sector winning a total of 11 awards. Among the awarded campaigns, alongside Manjgura's project for UHS, are projects from agencies 404 agency, A1, Abeceda komunikacija, CTA komunikacija, Hrvatski Telekom, and Millenium promocija. These awards further confirm that Croatian agencies not only follow global trends but often lead them.
It is particularly significant that this year the final judging for the IPRA GWA was held in Croatia for the first time, specifically in Zagreb. This is a great recognition for the Croatian PR industry, as Manjgura, besides being the host, had its founder Krešimir Macan on the jury. This shows the growing reputation of Croatian PR on the international stage.
Manjgura continues its successful streak and is already planning new projects and campaigns aimed at achieving equally impressive results in the future. Given the previous successes, we can expect that Croatian agencies will continue to stand out on a global scale.
