The Tourist Board of the City of Biograd na Moru proudly announces the third edition of the popular Biograd Family & Friends Festival (BFF), an event that will once again bring together enthusiasts of sports, recreation, and top-notch entertainment. This two-day spectacle, scheduled for the weekend of June 21st and 22nd, 2025, will take place in an idyllic beachfront location, right next to the renowned Ilirija pools in Biograd na Moru. Visitors can expect a meticulously designed and content-rich program, perfectly harmonized with the summer atmosphere, combining the benefits of the sea, sun, sports competitions, and unforgettable socializing.

This year's BFF Festival promises to raise the bar of excitement, bringing a fresh dose of adrenaline-fueled challenges and fun activities suitable for all age groups. Emphasis is placed on attractive sports competitions that will test the skills and endurance of participants, as well as on educational and entertainment workshops designed to enrich the experience for the whole family and groups of friends. Biograd na Moru thus becomes the epicenter of an active start to the summer.

A Sports Weekend Full of Excitement in Biograd na Moru

The festival will kick off on Saturday, June 21st, a day filled with dynamic sports activities and entertainment. Water sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to try their hand at exciting SUP (Stand-Up Paddling) and kayak races in the beautiful waters of Biograd na Moru. A special children's sports show performed by the popular Klaun Spartanko Smotanko is prepared for the youngest visitors, guaranteeing laughter and active fun. In addition to the competitive part, a SUP workshop will also be held, where all interested parties can learn the basics of this increasingly popular water sport or improve their existing skills under expert guidance.

Saturday's program will be further enriched by traditional Dalmatian games, designed to introduce children and adults to the cultural heritage of the region in an interactive and fun way. Games such as tug-of-war, sack races, egg-and-spoon races, and stacking Dalmatian crates will surely bring smiles and encourage a competitive spirit. The evening hours are reserved for an innovative Silent Disco Fitness workshop, a unique blend of exercise and music where participants follow the rhythm through wireless headphones, creating an extraordinary atmosphere. The highlight of Saturday's gathering will be the BFF Challenge on inflatables, which will take place at the attractive Ilirija Pools, offering plenty of laughter and informal competition in fun water games, such as ducky races or basketball on inflatables.

Sunday Dedicated to Swimming and Aquathlon Challenges

The second day of the festival, Sunday, June 22nd, will be entirely dedicated to swimming disciplines and aquathlon, attracting athletes of various fitness levels. The program begins with swimming and aquathlon races designed for both children and adults. Aquathlon, a dynamic combination of swimming and running, will test the versatility of competitors. Shorter distances adapted to their age will be organized for children (swimming 100m + running 1km for beginners born in 2014 and younger, and swimming 500m + running 2km for cadets born in 2014 and older). Adults will be able to compete in several aquathlon categories, including the "Big Aquathlon" (1.5 km swimming + 4 km running) and the "Medium Aquathlon" (500 m swimming + 2 km running).

Special attention is drawn to the original and extremely popular race Women No Rules, where participants are allowed, and even encouraged, to use various swimming aids (such as fins, snorkels, inflatable mattresses, etc.), thereby emphasizing fun and creativity rather than solely the sporting result over a 500-meter course. Children's swimming races of 300 meters will also be part of Sunday's program, giving the youngest a chance to show off their swimming skills in a supportive environment. All programs and competitions will take place at carefully selected locations – on the beach next to the Ilirija pools, in the sea, and in the Ilirija Pool itself, ensuring ideal conditions for participants and spectators.

Registrations and Fees for Participants

Participation in numerous workshops and entertainment activities during the BFF Festival in Biograd na Moru will be completely free for all visitors, with mandatory prior registration to ensure a spot and quality organization. A registration fee is envisaged for participation in sports competitions, and registrations are mandatory and carried out via the specialized platform Tracy sport, available at the link: Biograd Family & Friends Festival 2025.

Registration fees for competitive disciplines ensure a rich starter pack that includes the official BFF festival T-shirt, various gifts from sponsors, and a secured meal after the competition. The most successful competitors in all disciplines will be rewarded with medals and valuable prizes from sponsors, which further motivates participation and achieving the best possible results. This is an excellent opportunity to test your fitness and have fun in Biograd na Moru.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
