New Vinodol this winter invites everyone to experience the magic of the holiday spirit through the rich program New Advent. During this special period, the town will transform into an oasis filled with joy, light, and warmth, where every corner will resonate with laughter, song, and shared moments. The program offers diverse activities for all generations, including creative workshops, fun quizzes, beautiful Christmas concerts, and winter activities such as ice skating.

Grand Opening and Holiday Atmosphere

The opening of New Advent on December 1 promises a magical start to the Advent period. For the first time this year, the town will shine with thousands of lights and genuine holiday decorations, while the hearts of parents at Vinodolski Square will be warmed by the performances of their little ones. The holiday program will continue with a performance by the group Aurora, and we are sure that the little ones are eagerly awaiting the opening of Santa Claus House. This year, it will be the fairy-tale kitchen of Santa Claus, where the youngest, in the warmth of the Advent surroundings, will discover the joy of creating their own Christmas magic.

Storytelling Sessions and Children's Workshops

The National Reading Room and Library will also be a gathering place for all young story lovers who can relax with warm Christmas tales such as "Christmas Light," "Ice Tales," or "Christmas Spider Mreška." This December, children can also look forward to numerous performances, workshops, and a children's sports-music-Christmas competition that will surely bring smiles to their faces.

Creative Workshops for Adults

Almost every day in December will bring adults the opportunity to participate in various workshops. Starting on December 5, a glass Christmas ornament-making workshop will begin, where participants will create elegant details for their homes, while December 9 is reserved for two workshops – Advent Furniture Making Workshop and Wool Felting Christmas Ornament Workshop. Those who want something truly unique will be able to paint cups with Chia cups on December 10 and thus create special gifts, while art and wine lovers will participate in a unique black wine drawing workshop on December 23. Special attention will surely be attracted by the Kintsugi workshop on December 18, inspired by the Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with gold powder, which will bring a dose of symbolism and the merging of the past with new values into Advent. These are just some of the workshops awaiting you, so don't forget to register on time. We are sure that each workshop will awaken a dose of forgotten creativity in you and create memories that will last long after the holidays have passed.

Knowledge Quizzes

Four knowledge quizzes will awaken the competitive spirit among visitors. In addition to the traditional quizzes, such as the Christmas and New Year quiz pliz, on December 8 a quiz will be held with the famous quiz master Dean Kotiga, who will test the resourcefulness and knowledge of quiz enthusiasts, while on December 10 at the Fijolica Kindergarten, children and their parents will be able to try their hand at a special Christmas quiz battle "Guess Christmas!"

Advent at Mažuranić

Starting December 12, Advent at Mažuranić opens, a specially designated part of New Advent, which brings a true small holiday world full of good music, dance rhythms, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere. The opening will feature performances by Gelato Sisters and Group Trend, creating an unforgettable ambiance. We are sure that you are eagerly awaiting to try the specialties that will entice you this year as well from romantic Advent houses. Starting every Thursday weekend, you will have the opportunity to enjoy performances by local artists such as Trio Marinera, Mirakul, B band, Tria Mareta, Klapa Kala, as well as bands like Voxford, Eter Band, Top of the Pop, and numerous DJs. On the very feast of St. Stephen, December 26, Marko Tolja, known for his distinctive vocals and emotional performances, will take the Advent stage. His recognizable pop-soul style and sincere connection with the audience will add special magic to the holiday environment.

Skating Rink "Winter Magic of Frankopan"

This year's novelty will especially delight the youngest, but also somewhat older visitors. The "Winter Magic of Frankopan" skating rink, located in the very heart of the town, in the courtyard of the House of Culture, will open on December 15 with performances by Groovers and DJ Tommy. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skater, the ice will provide an opportunity for outdoor fun. The skating rink will be open throughout the entire Advent period until January 6, allowing unforgettable winter moments for all visitors. Entrance to the skating rink and skate rentals are available at a symbolic price of 2 euros, making this attraction accessible to everyone.

Holiday Atmosphere in Ledenice

The Advent mood will also extend to Ledenice, a historical place that will become the center of the holiday program on December 20. This event will revive joy for all generations through a rich program filled with music, creative workshops, and shared activities. The traditional Winter Concert of the choir will add special magic, scheduled for December 14, which will bring together the best vocal groups from the region. Additionally, lovers of spiritual music can enjoy the Christmas concert by Jose Butorac, which will take place on December 26 at the Church of St. Philip and James.

New Year with a Grand Celebration

At the end of the year, New Vinodol is preparing a unique New Year's celebration. Traditionally, New Year will be celebrated at noon with "New Toast," a musical performance by the Insula group, and gourmet specialties such as hunter's goulash and homemade sausages. Advent houses will offer a diverse catering selection, while promotional prices will attract numerous visitors. Not even the youngest will be forgotten – an animation program has been designed for them with balloon blowing, face painting, and essential sweet treats like doughnuts and juices.

Step into the Magical New Advent

New Advent in New Vinodol brings a festive atmosphere full of joy, community, and unforgettable moments for all generations. The town is richly decorated with magnificent light decorations, creating a unique atmosphere that invites exploration and participation in a diverse program. Every day brings new activities, from artistic workshops and concerts to competitive quizzes and family gatherings. Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
