On Saturday, April 5, 2025, organized by the association "Kivna", all nature and recreational movement enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in an attractive guided walk through the picturesque areas of the northeastern part of Krk island. The gathering of participants begins at 9:00 in the very center of the settlement Klimno, located in the Soline cove. This peaceful and charming place is known for its relaxing atmosphere and preserved nature, and offers participants an excellent starting point for this recreational adventure.

For those who are unable to walk the entire section of about 16 kilometers, there is an option to join the walk from Čižići at 10:00, exactly in front of the Lastura tavern. This shortens the overall route to approximately 10 kilometers. This flexibility allows participation for a wider circle of citizens, regardless of their level of physical fitness.

Route through the untouched nature of Krk island

The planned route leads from Klimno towards the settlement of Čižići, and then continues on a macadam road towards a forest area called Lug. In that part, walkers will be able to enjoy the scent of pines, the singing of birds, and the sound of footsteps on earthen ground. The walk then leads all the way to the settlement of Rudine, known for the Biserujka cave, one of the few accessible caves on the island. Although the cave itself is not part of the tour, the proximity of the site adds extra value to the overall experience.

After Rudine, the route returns back towards Čižići, where participants will be able to finish the walk and rest in a pleasant seaside environment. Those who started from Klimno will complete a full circle by returning to the starting point. The entire section includes a combination of macadam and paved roads, therefore it is advisable to wear comfortable and stable shoes and to dress in layers due to possible changes in weather conditions during the day.

Recommendations for participation

The organizers note that all participants join at their own risk, which is why it is important to prepare appropriately. In addition to physical readiness, participants are advised to bring sufficient amounts of water, a hat or cap for sun protection, as well as sunscreen with a protective factor. The walk takes place outdoors, so it is important to ensure personal comfort and safety throughout the event.

Registration and additional information

In order for the organizers to timely plan all logistical needs and safety measures, all interested parties should register via the online form. The number of participants is not strictly limited, but early registration is recommended. The association "Kivna" has been actively organizing such recreational events for several years with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle and better connectivity within the local community.

An experience that combines recreation and the discovery of local heritage

In addition to the physical activity itself, this guided walk offers an opportunity to better acquaint oneself with the landscape and the cultural-historical features of this part of Krk island. Passing through smaller places such as Lug and Rudine allows participants to experience traditional island life, far from the tourist bustle of larger places.

Accommodation and offers in Klimno and its surroundings

For those coming from other parts of Croatia or abroad, Klimno and the surrounding settlements such as Čižići and Rudine offer a variety of accommodations – from apartments by the sea to private holiday homes. The accommodation capacities in this part of the island are known for their tranquility, the hospitality of the hosts, and the proximity to numerous natural and cultural attractions. In addition to the walks, visitors can enjoy the local cuisine, especially fish specialties and domestic wines.

The organizers invite all generations, families, groups of friends, and individuals eager for an active stay in nature to join this communal walk, which is not only recreation but also an opportunity for connecting people, collectively discovering the hidden beauties of the island, and raising awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
