Rijeka Advent: a rich program ahead of Christmas Eve and Christmas

Rijeka Advent continues to offer a diverse program in the holiday week leading up to Christmas Eve and Christmas, combining music, family content, and winter fun on ice. Across multiple locations in the city, DJ performances, concerts, animation programs for children, and themed events alternate, creating a recognizable holiday atmosphere that confirms Rijeka as a place of meeting, togetherness, and good fun.

Christmas Eve: music, dance, and ice skating

For Christmas Eve, on Wednesday, December 24, Rijeka Advent brings a substantial program to several key points in the city. At the Resolution of Fun, the traditional L’Amour Christmas Eve is held, featuring performances by Frankiness and DJ Macola, who raise the holiday spirit from the morning hours.

On the Riva of Experiences, the program begins as early as the morning hours, while in the afternoon and evening, the music is taken over by DJ Daddy D and the Supercover Band, turning the waterfront into a large open-air dance floor. In the Export Ice Box, Christmas Eve is marked by the Slippery Christmas Eve event, featuring a DJ program on ice that combines skating and dance music.

At the Castle, as part of the Castle of Light program, performances by Doctor No and DJ Steve Lokki alternate throughout the day and evening. The historical ambiance of the Trsat Castle further emphasizes the holiday atmosphere, with light installations and appropriate scenography.

Christmas Day in a slightly calmer rhythm

Christmas, on Thursday, December 25, brings a slightly calmer but still substantial program. The Riva of Experiences has prepared a Christmas Fairy Tale for the afternoon hours, ideal for family walks and socializing after Christmas lunch. In the evening hours, attention shifts to the Trsat Castle, where DJ Super Saiyan is in charge of the musical backdrop, along with light effects and the holiday atmosphere of the Castle of Light.

Friday, December 26: return to the dance rhythm

Already on Friday, December 26, Rijeka Advent "heats up" again. The Resolution of Fun announces an evening performance by DJ Ole, while the Riva invites you to the Last Friday Party with DJ Chokzy. In the Export Ice Box, the ice rink turns into a real dance floor thanks to the program with DJ Lucca.

On the same day, as part of the Winter at the Castle program, Blu Kanua performs at the Trsat Castle, bringing an evening concert in the unique ambiance of the fortress.

Saturday, December 27: Disco on Ice and family Family Day

Saturday, December 27, is filled with a combination of family content and musical programs. In the Export Ice Box, the attractive Disco on Ice is held with DJ Tommy and a disco ball, turning the ice rink into a winter "disco hall" on ice.

A Family Day is organized at the Castle of Light, produced by the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka. The Castle space will come to life with charming stilt walkers, performances by the Tratinčice children's choir, small soloists of the Small School of Singing, and the First Rijeka Majorettes. Visitors can join workshops for dance, balloon modeling, and face painting, while the program begins at 12 PM and lasts throughout the day.

In the evening hours, the Resolution of Fun brings a performance by Jablan and DJ Eric, while the party continues on the Riva with DJ Chokzy, making Saturday one of the liveliest days of the holiday week.

Sunday, December 28: sports program, children's animation, and closing concert

The holiday week ends on Sunday, December 28, with programs that combine sports, family fun, and music. The morning is reserved for sports and animation content on ice, while in the afternoon at the Export Ice Box, children's animation with masks Angel and Stitch follows.

On the Riva of Experiences, a family Family Day takes place with a Kids corner, intended for the youngest and their parents. The evening hours bring music to the Resolution of Fun and a concert by the E’n’P duo at the Trsat Castle, with which Rijeka Advent rounds off another week filled with holiday socializing and prepares the city for the end of December and New Year's Eve celebrations.

Rijeka Advent as a place of meeting and togetherness

Rijeka Advent also in this holiday week confirms its status as a favorite place of meeting, fun, and togetherness, with a program that simultaneously offers family content, musical evenings, and events on ice. Visitors and citizens can thus choose between a calmer Christmas atmosphere and dynamic evening parties, with the unique atmosphere of a city that lives its advent rhythm in December.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
