The Poreč Summer event continues its rich and diverse cultural and entertainment program in the first days of September, turning the city into a large open-air stage that intertwines music, art, tradition, and gastronomy. As summer slowly says goodbye, the city's pulse does not wane, offering residents and numerous visitors a handful of content. From intimate musical evenings in the city squares and relaxing rhythms at sunset, through the smells and tastes of authentic Istrian delicacies, to unique concerts in historical settings and creative workshops that revive old techniques, Poreč once again confirms its status as an unmissable destination this week. The program is carefully designed to satisfy different tastes, combining local tradition with top artistic performances, providing an unforgettable experience for everyone who finds themselves in this Istrian pearl.

The week's music program began last night, on Tuesday, September 2, in the very heart of the city. On Freedom Square, as part of the popular program Music on the Square, visitors could enjoy an evening filled with live music performed by talented local musicians. The pleasant and relaxed atmosphere of the main city square, filled with sounds that spread between the historic facades, created the perfect soundscape for an evening walk through the old town core or relaxing on the terraces of nearby restaurants and cafes.

Sunsets with musical accompaniment and Istrian delicacies

This evening, on Wednesday, September 3, the program moves to one of the most beautiful locations in the city. Starting at 9 PM, the newly renovated Poreč Marina becomes the stage for another edition of the Sunset Vibes Poreč program. The musical duo ArtFonix is in charge of creating a special atmosphere at dusk, whose refined rhythms and melodies will complement the authentic and relaxed atmosphere right by the sea. Their repertoire, ideal for relaxation, will blend perfectly with the sound of the waves and the last rays of the sun, providing visitors with an idyllic end to the day.

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, brings a double program that celebrates the richness of Istrian heritage – both gastronomic and historical. From 9 AM until 8 PM, Freedom Square will turn into a real treasury of tastes and smells. An Exhibition of Istrian autochthonous products will be held, gathering valuable local family farms and producers. Visitors will have an extraordinary opportunity to taste and buy top-quality local products for which Istria is widely known. The stands will feature golden drops of olive oil, award-winning wines like Malvasia and Teran, Istrian prosciutto, various types of cheeses, local honey, and many other products that tell a story of tradition and love for the land. This exhibition is an ideal opportunity to stock up on authentic souvenirs and delicacies that will remind you of your stay in Poreč.

In the evening of the same day, starting at 7 PM, a journey into the past follows. A fascinating interpretative walk will be held, inspired by the most famous woman from Poreč, celebrated in the unofficial city anthem, the song "La mula de Parenzo". This unique tour takes visitors through hidden streets and squares, bringing to life the stories and legends from the city's rich history. Participation in the walk is free, but due to a limited number of participants, prior reservation is mandatory. Those interested can register by phone at 091 432 3745, via e-mail at lamuladeparenzo@muzejporec.hr, or in person at the "La mula de Parenzo" Visitor Center.

This virtuoso duo will perform a demanding and attractive program that includes compositions by greats such as Franz Liszt, César Antovich Atarov, Camille Saint-Saëns, Blerim Shehu, Roberto Di Marino, and the unmissable Ástor Piazzolla. The unique acoustics and spiritual peace of the basilica will further emphasize the beauty of their music-making. Creative Saturday: from eco-print to Dalmatian chanson

Saturday, September 6, brings a combination of creativity, tradition, and a musical spectacle. In the morning, at exactly 10 AM, a very interesting workshop titled "Penelope's Thread" will be held at the "La mula de Parenzo" Visitor Center. Participants will have the opportunity to dive into the world of sustainable design and try the ancient technique of dyeing and eco-printing fabrics with plants. Under the expert guidance of the renowned textile and fashion designer Silvija Kranjec Gajić from Studio OWN, participants will learn the basics of botanical eco-printing. Using leaves, flowers, and other natural materials, they will design their own unique fabric dyed exclusively with natural pigments, thus creating a unique work of art. Due to the limited number of places, registration for this free workshop is mandatory via the e-mail address: lamuladeparenzo@muzejporec.hr.

The highlight of the weekly program and the eagerly awaited event will take place on Saturday evening. At 8 PM, in the beautiful ambiance of the Poreč Marina, as part of the Sunset Vibes Poreč program, a large free concert will be held by one of the most respected and beloved Dalmatian musicians – the legendary Tedi Spalato. His distinctive, velvety voice and emotional interpretations of Dalmatian chansons have been delighting audiences throughout the region for years. Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
