A Night of Great Reading Under the Starry Sky
The informal literary group Ri Lit will once again hold its Nights of Great Reading, this time under the clear summer sky at Trsat Castle. This special edition, which will coincide with a full moon, will allow the audience to enjoy stories told in a unique way.

The storytellers will transmit real and imagined events through microphones, creating an atmosphere that will keep the audience glued to their seats. Eight authors will combine their texts on Monday, August 19th, starting at 9 PM. Trsat Castle, as always, will be open to all literature lovers, and entry is free. For those who want to sit, it is recommended to arrive on time, while standing places are expected to be sufficient.

Cameras will again follow the event, and the recorded material will be used to complete the experimental documentary film about Ri Lit, directed by Anđelo Jurkas. Thus, visitors could become part of the film story that will soon be found on the big screen.

The band will promote their fourth album, which will feature 16 new songs. The audience will have the opportunity to hear brand new melodies and lyrics live, while the castle's ambiance will further enhance the experience of their performances.

Crooks & Straights are known for their energetic performances and great communication with the audience, and their concerts always attract country music lovers. This concert will be special not only because of the album promotion but also because of the unique atmosphere that a summer evening at Trsat Castle brings.

Musical Delights in August
August at Gradina brings even more musical pleasures. Visitors will be able to enjoy performances by Goran Karan and the Vagabundo band, 4 Tenors, and the Rijeka group Pachamama Street Connection. Each of these performers brings their unique style and energy, making the program rich and diverse.

A particularly interesting event will be the Disco Revival: 70's & 80's Hits, which will revive the golden age of disco music from the seventies and eighties. Visitors will have the opportunity to dance to the biggest hits of that era and feel the spirit of past decades in the modern setting of Trsat Castle.

Urban's Musical Magic at Gradina
September will bring one of the most versatile domestic musicians, Damir Urban, to Gradina, who has been delighting the audience for decades through his rich career. Urban, who started his career as a child, has over ten author albums, which he recorded with the band Laufer and during his solo career.

His work with the bands Laufer and Urban&4 and his collaboration with the well-known cellist Stjepan Hauser have brought him numerous awards and recognitions in music circles. His songs often experience new versions through successful covers.

Urban is also known for his musical experiments, and his collaboration with the String Orchestra, the HRT Symphony Orchestra, and the Philharmonic has brought new editions of his songs, giving them a different sound. His concerts with strings and classical arrangements have always been a special experience for the audience.

In addition to a large number of concerts with the String Orchestra, Urban and his Quartet (Luka Toman, Marko Bradaschia, Sandi Bratonja, and Saša Markovski) have performed in various formats throughout the region, including club venues. This time they are returning with the String Orchestra to Nugent Park, where they will hold a concert as part of the 19th Summer at Gradina. The audience at this open-air concert will enjoy special arrangements of Urban's biggest hits, in an atmosphere that only his hometown can provide.

The concert in Rijeka, according to Urban, represents a special challenge due to the closeness to the audience, which makes every performance in the city special.

The Finale of Summer at Gradina
At Gradina, the audience will be able to hear some of his biggest hits in new arrangements, including songs "Dirigent", “Blijeda u proljeće”, "Iskra", "Astronaut", "Moja voda", "Odlučio sam da te volim", "Moja", "Div", "Ruke", “Pesća oluja”, "Sama", "Kuća sjećanja" and many others.

Urban always delights the audience with his performances, so it is no surprise that his concerts are always in high demand. Tickets for this special event are available through the Entrio system from today at 12:00 PM.

The Summer at Gradina program will close with the concert "Riječko rokanje", where the bands Bolidi, Valovi, and Peter North Pole will perform. This event starts at 8 PM and represents the finale of the music program at Trsat Castle.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
