Spring brings new sporting energy to Novi Vinodolski, where the second edition of the increasingly popular trail race that gathers running and nature enthusiasts will be held. After the successful edition last year, when numerous competitors from across the region were on the track, this year’s race brings a range of novelties, additional features, and even better organized competition that will satisfy both recreational and experienced runners.

A Unique Sporting Experience in the Heart of Nature

Race participants will be able to choose between two routes – a shorter route of 5 kilometers and a more demanding route of 11.5 kilometers. Both routes lead through the picturesque landscapes of the hinterland of Novi Vinodolski, offering competitors a blend of sporting challenge and the enjoyment of the natural beauties of this part of Croatia.

This year, a special emphasis has been placed on a family atmosphere, so the organizers have also prepared children’s races that will take place in the city center, on specially secured sections of 100 and 200 meters. This aims to encourage even the youngest to get involved in sporting activities from an early age and to develop the habit of movement.

Competitive Spirit and Rich Prizes

As in previous years, competitors will be divided into several categories according to age and gender, and the winners will be announced immediately after the races end. However, this race is not just a competition – the focus is on enjoying the sport and the sense of community, as confirmed by the organization of numerous additional activities throughout the day.

All participants are provided with starting packages, professional time measurement, and medals for those who finish the race. The best will, in addition to sporting pride, take home rich prizes that include gift packages, tickets to attractive destinations, and dinners in local restaurants.

Sporting Socializing with a Rich Supporting Program

In addition to the race itself, an entertaining program has been organized that will last into the evening hours. After the physical exertion, participants and visitors will be able to relax with a concert that will further elevate the atmosphere and round off this sporting event in the best possible way.

The event is not just a sporting occasion, but also an opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to take part in various workshops and presentations related to sports nutrition, race preparation, and maintaining physical fitness.

Registrations and Participation Conditions

All interested parties can register via the official race website, and the registration fee includes a starting number, an official T-shirt, time measurement, refreshments on the track and at the finish, and a rich starting package. Registrations are open until a few days before the event, but due to high demand, it is recommended to secure a spot early.

This sporting event also attracts numerous volunteers, whose engagement contributes to its successful organization. For those who do not wish to run but want to be part of this inspiring story, there is the possibility to apply for volunteer positions, where they can help with the organization and logistics of the race.

Tourist Attraction and Promotion of Active Leisure

Hosting such events not only attracts sports enthusiasts, but also contributes to the promotion of the destination. Runners from various regions come to enjoy the unique combination of sport, nature, and cultural heritage, which further strengthens the tourist offer and encourages the development of active tourism.

This event grows year after year and becomes an indispensable part of the sporting calendar. In view of last year’s success and the growing interest, this year’s race promises even more excitement, better routes, and richer content for all participants and visitors.

All those who want to experience a unique sporting event in a beautiful natural setting will find in this race the ideal opportunity to test their limits, socialize with like-minded people, and enjoy an active weekend full of positive energy.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
