One of the most prestigious tourism fairs in the world, ITB Berlin 2025, is once again opening its doors this year from March 4th to 6th, gathering key stakeholders of the global tourism industry. Among thousands of exhibitors, the Tourist Association of Zadar County presents its offer, participating in the fair with the aim of further promoting the region in one of the most important markets – the German one.

Destination Presentation Strategy

Within this year's participation, the Tourist Association of Zadar County has built an attractive exhibition space of 40 square meters, designed to attract as many visitors and business partners as possible. At the fair, they present themselves alongside regional partners, including hoteliers, representatives of airlines, and tourist associations of several cities and municipalities. The main emphasis is on the presentation of sustainable tourism, active leisure, cultural and eno-gastronomic experiences, as well as new investments in tourism infrastructure.

Emphasis on Eno-Gastronomic Offer

Within the promotional activities, special focus was placed on the eno-gastronomic offer, which is becoming an increasingly important segment in attracting guests from abroad. The first day of the fair was marked by the exclusive "Meet&Taste" event, during which visitors could enjoy tasting local products, such as top-quality wines from the Zadar region, the famous Paški cheese, homemade prosciutto, and traditional liqueurs. This method of presenting the destination proved extremely successful, as tourists are increasingly seeking authentic experiences connected with local culture and tradition.

Tourism Potential of the Region

Zadar County has been recording a continuous growth in the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays in recent years, especially from the German market, which is traditionally classified among the most important sources of guests. Considering the growing interest in active leisure, the increasing demand for high-category accommodation capacities, and investments in infrastructure, this region is becoming more competitive in the international tourism market.

The diverse natural riches, such as national parks, mountainous areas, and crystal clear sea, make it an attractive destination throughout the year. Special attention is also paid to sustainable tourism development, environmental protection, and the preservation of cultural heritage, all of which are key factors in attracting modern travelers who increasingly value eco-conscious destinations.

The Importance of ITB Berlin Fair

As one of the leading business and marketing platforms in the tourism industry, ITB Berlin gathers leading figures from the sector every year, from destination representatives and tour operators to experts in digital trends in tourism. Participation in this fair is crucial for strengthening visibility and business opportunities, and numerous business meetings and presentations allow direct connection with potential partners and investors.

Croatia's Role in Global Tourism

In recent years, Croatia has established itself as one of the most desirable destinations in the Mediterranean, and participation in ITB Berlin further reinforces its market position. With continuous growth in arrivals and investments in tourism infrastructure, the country is increasingly oriented towards sustainable and luxury tourism, aiming to attract guests seeking more than the classic summer vacation.

Zadar County, with its rich cultural heritage, natural beauties, and high-quality services, plays a significant role in this process, and its participation in ITB Berlin represents an exceptional opportunity for further promotion and the attraction of new markets.

Meetings and Collaborations

During the fair, numerous business meetings were held at the Zadar County stand with representatives of tour operators, airlines, and media specialized in tourism. Moreover, the stand served as a meeting place with many partners and collaborators from around the world, further strengthening ties and opening new possibilities for future cooperation.

This year's participation in ITB Berlin proved to be a crucial step in further affirming the destination, opening the doors to new business opportunities and further enhancing the recognition of Zadar County on the global tourism scene.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
