Game-changing secret agents are returning to the place where many of their ideas and scenes were born – to the island of Krk, among locations that have already turned into a recognizable backdrop for the series. After making Rijeka, Zagreb, and Osijek laugh and surprised with their witty, “low-budget but high-heart” films, as well as audiences at festivals outside Croatia, AGENTS 010 announce a new evening of collective viewing and socializing with the audience on Krk. Admission remains simple – good will and a smile – and the exit, if you like the film, can be a voluntary donation for the continuation of the project.
The screening is announced for Thursday, December 4, 2025, starting at 19:30 at the Krk Cinema. The slot is intended for everyone who loves unpretentious, smart jokes, self-irony, and film play that is not afraid to break prejudices. For many viewers, the return of the series to Krk is not just the return of the film crew to familiar streets, squares, and promenades, but also an occasion to recall how the island of Krk played an important role in the creation of numerous episodes.
A series that grew out of the community
“Secret Agent 010” was created as an inclusive film project of the Rijeka Association Spirit, which has been building a platform for the creative expression of young people and everyone who believes that film can be a tool for social change for decades. The series began as a game and an exercise in film literacy, and over time it grew into a recognizable brand that regularly fills halls and wins over festival audiences. At the center are stories in which unusual heroes save the world – without typical “Hollywood” superpowers, but with a lot of improvisation, warmth, and inexhaustible humor. The approach has been clear from the beginning: film belongs to everyone who dares to step in front of the camera or behind it, and the community that forms around the project is just as important as the filmed shots.
Year after year, the “agents” are expanding their fan base. First, they attracted attention with Rijeka screenings and premieres that filled HKD in Sušak, then the programs visited Zagreb and Osijek, and then they moved to festivals and events outside Croatia. Each new episode brought fresher ideas, more self-confidence, and a new generation of volunteers who entered the project as viewers and stayed as collaborators. Precisely this openness – the fact that the doors of the set and editing room are ajar for everyone who wants to learn – makes the series different and close to an audience that might otherwise not seek a path to independent film.
Krk as a film stage
Not a small number of scenes of AGENT 010 were filmed precisely on Krk. From stone alleys in the old center to promenades by the sea, from hidden courtyards to wide views from lookouts – the island has become a natural scenographic extension of stories in which “secret” agents appear where you least expect them. For the local community, this means something more: confirmation that cultural value can be created even without large budgets, and that Krk is diverse enough to serve as both a backdrop and a character in the story. In that diversity lies an additional charm – recognizing shots that are literally “around the corner”.
The audience that discovered the series through Krk screenings gladly remembers how the faces of neighbors, friends, amateurs, and professionals alternated on the screen. Precisely that mixture of “small” and “large” acting gestures, seasoned with local humor, makes the special charm of the Spirit Association projects. In new episodes, there will be simple action gags, and gentle, intimate moments – because the whole thing has always been more about people than about genre. Shots from Krk give additional texture, one that is impossible to artificially produce: specific light, stone that speaks, the sea that changes the rhythm of the scene.
From HKD to cinema halls on the islands
Recent Rijeka screenings showed how much the series has matured. Premieres and reruns at HKD filled the hall to the very edges, and audience reactions were equally loud: delight at the energy and warmth coming from the screen turned the space into a shared “laughter club” – one that does not lose measure and where no one is the object of mockery, but everyone is part of the joke. After titles like “Apocalypse WOW!”, the logical step is to meet the audience outside the center of Rijeka again. In that sense, Krk is both geographically and emotionally close: returning to the place where many ideas started and where they were extremely well received.
The cooperation of the Rijeka association and Krk partners in previous years confirmed that small, agile teams can seriously deal with projection programming, with sensitivity for special audiences – from the youngest to older visitors, from film connoisseurs to those who are just discovering the charms of shared laughter in the hall. It is precisely such an audience that is most loyal to the “agents”: ready for the unexpected, patient with improvisation, and open to participation. In this way, “cinema” returns to its basis – a shared experience and conversation that continues even after the end credits.
What are we watching this time?
The program of the evening at the Krk Cinema is designed as a dynamic mix of the best from previous years and the newest materials. The crew has been working intensively in recent months, so viewers will have the opportunity to see the freshest stuff, but also a few selected segments from earlier films, in order to connect simple plot threads and round off the humorous arc. The specific rhythm of the series – fast replies, visual wit, self-irony, and parodying genre clichés – functions most effectively precisely when watched in company, when laughter spills over from one row to another and when a “wave” is jointly created that carries the scene to the end.
As always, “female agents” and “male agents” will lead the audience through a short introduction in which they reveal how the material was created, who all collaborated, and at which locations filming took place. Precisely here, the richness of Krk and the wider Kvarner often surfaces – natural lights, stone textures, a view of the sea – which turn into small special effects in the hands of creatives. These are still films that consciously rely on “do-it-yourself” aesthetics, but precisely because of that, they seem fresh and sincere. The technique is simple, but the ideas are precise; and when sincere contact with the audience is added to that, you get a cinema evening that is not forgotten.
Free entry, donations desirable
In accordance with the practice of the Spirit Association, entry to the screening is free. Everyone who wants to support further filming and post-production can leave a voluntary donation at the exit of the hall. Donations are used for equipment, travel costs, workshops, education, and a multitude of small but real expenses that every film project carries. Transparency is important: the community that creates films together with the authors has the right to know that every donation has a concrete trace in the next shot. The audience that already follows the series knows well how quickly such contributions return to the screen – in new gags, better sound image, more agile editing.
Why Krk exactly?
Besides a sentimental return, Krk offers conditions that perfectly suit the “spirit” of the project: a compact, connected community, recognizable vistas, and an audience ready to accept both the unexpected and the imperfect – provided it is sincere. The Krk audience has already proven that it knows how to reward effort with laughter and warm applause, and this screening will build on that relationship of trust. If you want to experience what it looks like when local identity flows into small, witty “world” stories, the evening at the Krk Cinema will be an ideal opportunity: close enough to recognize details, and distant enough to surprise with perspective.
Inclusion as practice, not a slogan
“Secret Agent 010” is not a campaign, but a continuous practice of inclusion. Young people and adults with disabilities not only act, but also film, edit, write, and produce. Such an approach changes viewing habits: instead of thinking “about” someone, we start watching “with” someone. Because of this, screenings have additional value for schools, associations, and educational programs – they become an example of how themes of diversity are naturally incorporated into entertaining content. Full halls in Rijeka, Zagreb, and Osijek testify to this, as well as frequent guest appearances and media announcements that accompany every new episode. The audience recognizes that this is a project that breaks prejudices without preaching – with humor and warmth.
How to get to the hall and practical notes
Krk Cinema is located in the center of the town and is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, or by car. Arriving earlier is recommended to find a seat, especially because events of this type are often “sold out” even without tickets. The organizer retains the possibility of minor time and program adjustments, about which they will inform the audience in a timely manner on their communication channels. If you plan to stay on Krk longer after the screening, check the availability of accommodation and prepare a short plan for a walk through the city center. Winter evenings bring quieter streets, but also a special atmosphere that fits perfectly with socializing over a film.
Where does the humor of AGENT 010 come from?
Humor is born from a mixture of improvisation and unexpected situations: actors and actresses often suggest gags themselves that “click” during filming. In editing, these moments turn into small “bursts of laughter” – short sequences that build up and spirally lead towards larger scenes. Because of this, every episode has its own rhythm, and yet the recognizable handwriting of the crew is felt. The audience also loves self-referential jokes that parody clichés of large spy franchises. On Krk, where numerous shots were filmed in real, everyday spaces, these witticisms are further amplified – because they are credible and “on home turf”.
The audience as a teammate
One of the peculiarities of these screenings is that the audience experiences the hall as a training ground: after the film, many approach the authors, suggest a location, lend a costume, bring a prop, offer music, and some are on the set already the next day. Thus the circle closes: those who were viewers last night become collaborators tomorrow. This kind of organic growth can only be maintained if one remains faithful to the original idea – that film belongs to everyone who dares to step into it. Krk is ideal in this regard – small enough for people to connect quickly, and large enough for every new episode to find a new location and new energy.
Evening plan
The program begins at 19:30 with a short introduction by the crew, followed by a block of selected episodes and new materials. A short break is also foreseen, and after the end – whoever wishes – can stay for socializing in the lobby. A box for voluntary contributions will be placed at the exit. Since this is a project in which every donation flows into new shots, your contribution is a direct investment in the next episode. The organizer will report on the details of the program immediately prior to the screening, in accordance with available hall slots and technical conditions.
Message to viewers
If you like different humor, if you enjoy film “imperfections” that turn into an advantage, if you want to see how a community can create a franchise that is simultaneously local and universal – reserve Thursday, December 4, 2025, and drop by the Krk Cinema. Bring a smile, good will, and a friend. AGENTS 010 and their infectious enthusiasm will take care of everything else.
Planning to stay on Krk?
For everyone who will travel to Krk because of the screening, we remind you that the winter season is quiet and pleasant for shorter stays. Explore Advent programs, walk along the waterfront and the old center, and if you are by car, consider a short trip to neighboring places on the island. Nearby there are promenades and lookouts from which the town can be seen as if in the palm of your hand, and the gastronomic offer – from simple taverns to modern bistros – functions even outside the summer peak. If you arrive earlier, we suggest a short walk through the old city center before the start of the screening – that too is a small film set, just without a camera.
