On the verge of summer's beginning, the royal city becomes the epicenter of active holidays and family togetherness. This very weekend, June 21st and 22nd, don't miss the third edition of the Biograd Family & Friends Festival, the popular BFF, which, organized by the Tourist Board of the city of Biograd na Moru, brings two days filled with adrenaline, laughter, and sports challenges. This unique event, located at an attractive location by the Ilirija beach and pool, offers a perfect blend of a maritime atmosphere and a rich program intended for all generations. If you are looking for the ideal way to step into the warmest season of the year, visit Biograd na Moru and become a part of this cheerful sports story. Registrations for participation are still open, so there is no reason to wait!

Saturday in the sign of sea adventures and creative fun

The first day of the festival, Saturday, June 21st, is entirely dedicated to dynamic activities on the sea and on land. The program begins with exciting competitions that will test your skill and speed on the sea surface. Water sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to try their hand at SUP and kayak races, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Pašman Channel. Stand-Up Paddling, better known as SUP, has become a global phenomenon due to its simplicity and effectiveness in activating the entire body, and the race in attractive Biograd na Moru offers a special experience.

While the adults compete, the youngest visitors will not have a moment of boredom. A special children's sports show directed by the popular Clown Spartanko Smotanko is prepared for them. Nikola Barbarić, a kinesiologist and sports manager behind this character, has been delighting children throughout Croatia for years with his unique combination of comedy, sports, and education. His mission is to encourage children to be active and adopt healthy habits through laughter and play, and his performance guarantees bursts of laughter and interactive fun. After the show, children and adults can join free SUP workshops, where they can master the basics of this popular sport under expert guidance. For those who prefer tradition, there are also Dalmatian games, a revival of old customs like tug-of-war and sack races, which promote team spirit and togetherness among participants.

The evening hours bring an innovative and modern approach to recreation. Join the Silent Disco Fitness workshop, a unique experience where each participant receives wireless headphones to follow the music and instructor's directions. This concept allows for complete immersion in the workout without external noise, creating an intimate and focused atmosphere. The day will culminate in the hilarious BFF Challenge on inflatables, which will take place in the Ilirija pool. Expect plenty of laughter and clumsy falls in the battle for the title of the most skilled team on inflatable mattresses.

Sunday reserved for swimmers and aquathlon athletes

The second day of the festival, Sunday, June 22nd, focuses on swimming disciplines and the aquathlon, a dynamic combination of swimming and running that attracts athletes of various profiles and fitness levels. The program is carefully designed to satisfy the appetites of both children and adults, offering different distances adapted to age and abilities. For the youngest beginners (born in 2014 and younger), a race of 100 meters of swimming and 1 kilometer of running is organized, while older cadets (born in 2014 and later) will compete on a course of 500 meters of swimming and 2 kilometers of running. This is a great opportunity for young hopefuls to show their sporting spirit and versatility in the beautiful setting of the coastal town of Biograd na Moru.

A special attraction of the Sunday program is certainly the original "Women No Rules" race. As the name suggests, rules here are almost non-existent. The main goal is to have fun, and participants are encouraged to be creative by using various props – from fins and swimming boards to inflatables and other aids. This race celebrates women's recreation and togetherness in a relaxed and informal way, putting smiles and good fun ahead of stopwatches and results.

Registrations, entry fees, and everything you need to know

The organizers have made sure that participation is as simple and accessible as possible. All workshops and entertainment content, including the children's program and Silent Disco Fitness, are completely free for all visitors, but prior registration is required to secure a spot. For participation in the competitive disciplines – SUP, kayak, swimming, and aquathlon – an entry fee is charged. Registrations are mandatory and are made exclusively through the online platform Tracy Sport. The process is quick and simple, and it allows you to secure your start number in time.

Every competitor with a paid entry fee receives a rich start package that includes the official BFF festival T-shirt, appropriate gifts from sponsors, and a guaranteed meal after the race. The most successful in each category will be awarded medals and valuable prizes, but the real winners are all those who dare to participate and spend an active weekend in good company. The entire event schedule, timetable, and all additional information can be found on the official pages of the Tourist Board via the link Discover Biograd. Do not miss the opportunity to create unforgettable memories in the heart of Dalmatia, in sunny Biograd na Moru, a city that breathes with sporting lungs this weekend.

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
