Friday and Saturday in the Karst bring Antonja Day, performances and film screenings with hunting stew

In the municipality of Dobrinj, on Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, 2025, a celebration of the Antonje Place Day is held in the Karst, with a mass, a free stew of hunters, a performance "4 funerals and a wedding" and a film evening with a screening of the film "Agent 010: Once Upon a Time in America". Admission is free.

The Municipality of Dobrinj is preparing a rich and interesting cultural-entertainment program for the upcoming weekend, which brings diverse events and opportunities for pleasant socializing of all generations. The focus is on the village of Kras, which during two days will be the center of gathering, entertainment, and tradition, with a special emphasis on the celebration of the Day of the Place – Antonje.


Friday in Kras: Saint Anton and a rich social program


On Friday, June 13, 2025, residents and visitors of Kras will have the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Day of the Place – Antonje, which begins with a holy mass in the Church of Saint Anton at 10:30 am. The holy mass provides a spiritual framework to this traditional event that brings the community together in the spirit of gratitude and fellowship.


After the mass, the gathering continues at the square next to the community center where hunters of the Hunting Society "Fazan" from Dobrinj will organize a free tasting of game goulash. This is an opportunity to enjoy homemade specialties but also to meet and connect with local hunters who care about preserving nature and the tradition of this area.


The evening will be marked by the play "4 Funerals and a Wedding" which starts at 9:00 pm in front of the community center. This comedic drama brings new adventures and misadventures of the married couple Đurđa and Franko, portrayed by Irena Grdinić and Mario Lipovšek Battifiaca, illustrating the eternal paradox of love. Their mutual animosity actually hides a deep attachment, and the text and direction are signed by these two actors. Entrance to the play is free, making this cultural evening accessible to all visitors.


Saturday brings a film evening in the spirit of local production


The next day, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9:00 pm, near the community center in Kras a special film screening is organized on the occasion of the Day of the Place. The SPIRIT Association has prepared an interesting film program presenting the screening of the film "Agent 010: Once Upon a Time in America". The film was shot in the Kvarner area and the island of Krk and in the spirit of local film works brings unexpected action heroes who save the world in a charming and witty way.


A special feature of this event are the special guests of the film – famous actors such as Denis Brizić, Neno Gržetić, and Enis Bešlagić, whose roles additionally contributed to the quality and attractiveness of the film evening. Entrance to the screening is free, and organizers invite everyone to spend a pleasant and relaxing evening with a domestic film and a friendly atmosphere.

These two days in Kras represent an excellent opportunity for all who want to experience the authentic atmosphere of the island of Krk and the municipality of Dobrinj.
