The curtain on this year's exceptionally rich and eventful Poreč Summer was brought down in the most beautiful way possible this past weekend. On Saturday, September 6, the final chords of summer echoed through the newly renovated Poreč Marina, which has established itself over the past few months as one of the most attractive open-air stages in Istria. The honor of closing the event went to the legendary Dalmatian singer-songwriter Tedi Spalato, whose concert brought an evening filled with pure emotion, nostalgia, and that recognizable Mediterranean charm. This musical event was the crown of a successful new project by the Poreč Tourist Board, the "Sunset Vibes Poreč" series, which provided the people of Poreč and their guests with unforgettable musical experiences in an idyllic seaside setting.

A romantic climax to the summer season with the sounds of Dalmatia

The evening was perfect for musical magic. As the sun slowly set on the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, Tedi Spalato and his band took to the stage and led the gathered crowd on a journey through his rich musical career. The audience, which filled the marina to the last seat, sang along from the very beginning, creating an incredible atmosphere of togetherness. Timeless hits like "Sve ću preživit’", "More snova", "Dalmatino, povišću pritrujena", and the ballad "Ako stvarno voliš ženu" followed one after another, and each song was met with thunderous applause. Spalato, known for his unique ability to blend Dalmatian chanson with elements of jazz and pop, once again proved why he holds the status of one of the most respected musicians in this region. His performance, imbued with sincere emotions, and the warmth he radiates on stage, created the perfect backdrop for a farewell to summer. The sound of the sea and the romantic ambiance of the marina further emphasized the beauty of his music, making this evening a worthy and emotional finale to the Poreč Summer of 2025.

Sunset Vibes Poreč: A musical rhapsody at Poreč Marina

Tedi Spalato's concert was the culmination of the "Sunset Vibes Poreč" music series, a concept that completely revitalized Poreč Marina and turned it into the center of summer music events. The series was officially opened on June 21, the first day of summer, with the "Greeting to Summer" concert. That evening, the stage was taken by two true divas of the Croatian music scene – opera singer Sandra Bagarić and the versatile soprano and theater artist Danijela Pintarić. Their powerful vocals, accompanied by maestro Darko Domitrović on the piano, filled the marina with arias and timeless melodies, offering the audience an evening of refined elegance and supreme artistry. It was a truly spectacular start to the summer in a city that offers a handful of reasons to visit and find the ideal accommodation in Poreč.

In mid-July, specifically on July 16, the atmosphere took on a retro feel. The same stage was graced by Marko Tolja, a musician known for his charm and performances that revive the golden age of swing. Tolja led the audience through his recognizable repertoire, skillfully combining his own hits with classics from legends like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. His ease of performance, refined style, and charisma won over everyone present, and the concert turned into an elegant dance evening under the stars. In addition to these major concerts, "Sunset Vibes Poreč" also offered more intimate musical moments throughout the summer. This was thanks to the music duo ArtFonix, led by the extraordinary voice of the young and talented Natali Radovčić. This finalist of the popular show "The Voice Croatia" and a participant in Dora enriched the evenings at the marina with her performances, providing visitors and passers-by with emotional musical backdrops that completed the overall experience and magic of Poreč's summer nights.

A rich autumn in Poreč: From tuna to classical music

Although the Poreč Summer is officially over, the cultural and gastronomic events in the city continue with undiminished intensity, proving that Poreč is a destination that is alive all year round. Already this week, the city becomes an epicenter for all lovers of top-notch gastronomy and sport fishing. The long-awaited Tunalicious Festival has begun, which this year is being held in its full glory, parallel to the international big-game fishing competition, TunIstra. For seven days, until September 14, Poreč will breathe in the rhythm of tuna, the queen of the Adriatic. On the Poreč waterfront, visitors can expect Tunalicious Street Food, with a rich and imaginative offer of tuna dishes, all spiced up with performances by top musical artists. The culmination of the gastronomic offer will occur during Tuna Restaurant Week, when the best restaurants in Poreč will offer specially designed tuna-based menus at promotional prices. For the most refined palates, the Spinnaker restaurant is preparing an exclusive fine dining dinner, promising a unique culinary experience.

The magic of nature, sound, and taste in the heart of Istria

In addition to gastronomic delights, Poreč also offers unique artistic experiences. Tonight, September 8, starting at 9 PM, Olga Ban Park will be transformed into the magical Mystic Forest for the last time this season. This unique evening program, through a combination of light installations, music, dance, and stage effects, creates a surreal walk through nature, blurring the lines between the real and the imaginary, and providing visitors with an experience they will long remember. Thursday, September 11, brings a double program. From 9 AM to 8 PM, Liberty Square will become the center of authentic Istrian flavors and scents at the traditional Fair of Istrian autochthonous products. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste and buy the best from local family farms – from olive oil and wine to cheeses, honey, and cured meat delicacies. On the same day, in the evening from 9 PM, Liberty Square will host the impressive wind orchestra of the A. M. Buxton Music School from the Czech city of Úpice. This renowned orchestra, with more than one hundred musicians, is one of the best in the Czech Republic, and they will present themselves to the Poreč audience with a diverse repertoire ranging from classical works, through jazz and swing, to arrangements of world-famous pop and evergreen hits. Such a variety of events makes every planning of a visit and search for accommodation in Poreč an exciting experience.

The cultural autumn continues in sacred spaces as well. Last Friday, September 5, in the magnificent ambiance of the Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the prestigious cycle Concerts in the Euphrasiana continued. The audience was delighted by the performance of the Amicis Quartet with pianist Martina Cukrov Jarrett, bringing an evening of chamber music at the highest level. This concert series continues, offering classical music lovers a unique opportunity to enjoy top performances in a space of priceless historical and acoustic value.

Tourism desk

Our Travel Desk was born out of a long-standing passion for travel, discovering new places, and serious journalism. Behind every article stand people who have been living tourism for decades – as travelers, tourism workers, guides, hosts, editors, and reporters. For more than thirty years, destinations, seasonal trends, infrastructure development, changes in travelers’ habits, and everything that turns a trip into an experience – and not just a ticket and an accommodation reservation – have been closely followed. These experiences are transformed into articles conceived as a companion to the reader: honest, informed, and always on the traveler’s side.

At the Travel Desk, we write from the perspective of someone who has truly walked the cobblestones of old towns, taken local buses, waited for the ferry in peak season, and searched for a hidden café in a small alley far from the postcards. Every destination is observed from multiple angles – how travelers experience it, what the locals say about it, what stories are hidden in museums and monuments, but also what the real quality of accommodation, beaches, transport links, and amenities is. Instead of generic descriptions, the focus is on concrete advice, real impressions, and details that are hard to find in official brochures.

Special attention is given to conversations with restaurateurs, private accommodation hosts, local guides, tourism workers, and people who make a living from travelers, as well as those who are only just trying to develop lesser-known destinations. Through such conversations, stories arise that do not show only the most famous attractions but also the rhythm of everyday life, habits, local cuisine, customs, and small rituals that make every place unique. The Travel Desk strives to record this layer of reality and convey it in articles that connect facts with emotion.

The content does not stop at classic travelogues. It also covers topics such as sustainable tourism, off-season travel, safety on the road, responsible behavior towards the local community and nature, as well as practical aspects like public transport, prices, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, and getting your bearings on the ground. Every article goes through a phase of research, fact-checking, and editing to ensure that the information is accurate, clear, and applicable in real situations – from a short weekend trip to a longer stay in a country or city.

The goal of the Travel Desk is that, after reading an article, the reader feels as if they have spoken to someone who has already been there, tried everything, and is now honestly sharing what is worth seeing, what to skip, and where those moments are hidden that turn a trip into a memory. That is why every new story is built slowly and carefully, with respect for the place it is about and for the people who will choose their next destination based on these words.
